I thought Obama was going to end the wars? Seems to me he is escalating the war in afghanistan.

By ROBERT H. REID, Associated Press Writer Robert H. Reid, Associated Press Writer – 5 mins ago

KABUL – July is shaping up as the deadliest month of the Afghan war for U.S.-led international forces, with the number killed already matching the highest full-month toll of the nearly eight-year conflict, according to figures compiled by The Associated Press.

As of Wednesday, at least 46 international troops, including 24 Americans, had been killed in Afghanistan this month, according to statements by the U.S. military and the NATO command. That matches the tolls for the two previous deadliest months — June and August of 2008.

The rate of deaths in July — about three a day — is approaching some of the highest levels of the Iraq war.

Why aren't you in the streets protesting the new war monger in the white house?

Because the Afghanistan war is actually a legitimate one? One that we where winning before President Bush pushed his luck with Iraq.

So are we losing now?

We never declared war in Afghanistan either.

They are both occupancies.

They are both poorly run.

We will never pull our troops out of either country completely.

And btw, don't forget Obama himself plans to permanently station 50,000 troops in Iraq.

And don't forget, even his campaign website spoke of needing more "military and civilian" involvement in foriegn countries. So the question still stands; "Why aren't you in the streets protesting the new war monger in the white house?"

This is one of my disappointments with Obama, I think he wants to please both sides of the isle too much. Not that I expected him to ignore one side over the other, but not try to please both so much that he ends up pleasing no one.

the Obama bashing channel.

Not only that but they bend their news to fit a right wing agenda.

Liberal becomes a bad word on their channel but liberal is no worse than conservative in reality.

I think i'm going to come up with a new word for liberal. How about "Neoliberal"? Kinda like "neoconservative".

You see, most "liberals" identify themselves as liberal, when in fact, they want bigger government, and more control over the people. Just like conservatives that are pro-war, or want to bail out businesses.

They are both false identifiers.

Can't claim to be a liberal, when you think we need more laws and regulations.

I think, anyways, that the term "liberal" stands for ones who support "liberty" and "conservatives" are the ones supporting plans that are fiscally "conservative". Or am i wrong?

I'll tell you I just dont' know who is who anymore. All I hear is liberals this and liberals that. I thought I was a liberal until I got online, and though I am not a conservative other than fiscally, I don't know what label would fit what I believe.

If we just took the control freaks out of both sides of the isle I might be able to tell who's who.

you know the world would be so much better off if people actually knew who or what they are voting for. the the war - congress agreed - why is the iraq war bush's war? anyway what we need is to respect the presidency not just when our guy is but when the other guy is in. i did not vote for obama - i do not agree with his ideas or his policies i think our nation is def headed in the wrong direction - BUT, i will not disrespect him just because i do not like him. why is it that conservatives tend to be more tolerant than liberals? just because someone does no have your opinion does not make him a devil! and regardless we live in a democracy - a winner and a loser - and if your party loses why not spend the next 4 years getting FACTS out of why you should win the next one - not spend frickin 8 years villafying, disrespecting and everything else people have done to bush. cause really in 4 years when we are in debt, over-taxed, kissing every arab countries ***, enemies with england and russia, and supporting the people who don't wanna work - I WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE FOR CHANGE! i mean no disrespect for everyone who is looking a job in this economy - cause i know it is not easy and i wish you luck in finding a job!

fact of war.

Once you in it... Hard to disengage... after blood has been spilt.

Afganistan area has heated up because those that fight from there have supply lines that are shorter... and few choices as to where to deploy warriors.

Fighting from the wall makes one desperate.

why is it that conservatives tend to be more tolerant than liberals

Wow, conservatives more tolerant? I would really love to see that, but rarely do. Though I have a few personal friends who are republican that actually are tolerant, the conservatives rarely are in my experience. Maybe it's just the Christian conservatives I find so intolerant. Again hard to know who's who anymore. The labels get confusing.

I think when conservatives are actually tolerant, you will find that liberals will calm down as well, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

It's hard to respect Bush considering where he took us in the past 8 years, but Bush didn't do it by himself. It took help from the his administration and some rather unconscious folks on the democratic side as well who preferred to cave in then fight him.

I would say the world is headed in a direction some won't like and others will, just like every other president, but we seem to manage to get through it. Where I find fault with Obama is that he is way to close to Bush's policies in some areas. But again, some will like that, other's won't.

The problem with the right wing is they believe they know how everyone should live, like they do, and want to create laws to enforce it. Liberals believe in live and let live as long as you are within the laws of the land and if a discrimination is noticed in the laws you work to change it.

I see liberalism as allowing the change to accomodate the changing world, I see conservativism as staying stuck in the past and we have a terrible past to overcome here in these here United States.
