i have to disagree. when i was growing up. and people in their 40s there parents new where we were at all times. to me proves she is a bad mother. i bet her mother never told her about sex. like must say we cant have condom machines in school. that promotes sex. hug wash.

Most teens nowadays are sexually active. And a dangerously large portion end up getting knocked-up.

I agree that using ignorance as a means for prevention is just stupid. Like abstinence only sex ed... don't get me started on that.

Oh how the mind does evolve, that and the population, movies, music, video games, books, goods, and of course drugs (this is all inclusive, tyenol is still a drug even if you don't "think" it is)...it is hardly the generations fault, this generation is simply moving quicker than previous generations. Which by all means is actually the previous generations fault, see it kind of goes like this:

You grew up more than likely in a strict household, more than likely you hated it and swore that "one day when I have kids, I won't treat them like this!". Now this is where it gets tricky, where there were a few that were alright living in a strict household, there were millions more that absolutely hated it and lived to the above noted saying. See where I'm going yet? Let me explain further.

Essentially, years and years of living under strict rules, eventually you will leave the house and be introduced to elements of life that you were not previously accustomed too (this can really be anything, drinking, drugs, music, etc.). So now you listen to this record or drink that beer, or even smoke that joint or pop that pill...a new life awakens that you did not previously know about! Now it is getting fun even! And really from there it is just going downhill and picking up speed, cause you have kids and you are hardly the person you were when you lived at home because we as humans are constantly evolving and adapting...isn't history fun?

life is about rules. my parent were not that bad on me. maybe they should have been. i did not get a women knocked up at 17. not because i was afraid of my parents.it was because was raised to have respect.

People can have all the respect in the world and still have kids at 17...freedom of choice, if they want too they indeed will and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Even in the 40's people got pregnant at 17, only difference is you didn't have the media coverage like we do now...someone gets shot down the street and that night you hear everything about it. Didn't quite work that well in the 40's, really didn't start working that well until about the 60's.

I'm a year older then you. I grew up with a stay-at-home mom. She did not know every place that I was when I was 17 years old. Kids are driving at that age.

my self i feel kids should not get a license till they are adults

they can and should have permits at 16 but need a co-driver over the age of 21 to accompany them will driving

a possible work only license after passing a driving test

kinda like a dui driving permit
