Been on here off and on for a long time.

Problem with this site is there are SO many good women on it that one has a hard time filtering the good from the good(er) so to speak.

I'm part jock and part geek.
Unfortunately I am master of none.
So, I find it difficult to relate personally.
But some of those movies are fun to watch in any case.

Geeks are hot! I told my eldest two daughters, now that they're getting interested in boys, that the very best boy to date is a geek. They tend to be more courteous, more intellegent, and they're the ones who will end up with good jobs and stable homes.

And, again, they're just plain HOT!

ETA: Oh, and I AM a geek too.

There is a serious stereotyping going on regarding "geeks". Aren't you basing your idea of a "geek" based on movies?

Just askin....I know several "geeks" who could also claim to be a bodyguard or a martial artist. There are even geeks who served in the army, driving tanks and stuff.

I totally see that. Like I said above, I'm a geek. I totally qualify, but my students always tell me "Miss Crichton, you're not a geek! You're way too cool!"

They mean it as a compliment, of course, so I take it that way. I asked them to tell me what stereotype they WOULD put me under, and I got mostly emo, punk, sk8ter and goth.

So yeah, you're right there. Thing is, the OP DID talk about geeks in the movies, which are very much the stereotype.

Plus, glasses are just drool-worthy, IMHO.
