What a thoughtful heart our gal ((((((Robin))))))) has!

A local radio station is offering 'radio resumes' here in Albuquerque, maybe this can be found in other cities as well.

Great idea, Robin! Another great website is freecycle.com. They are almost everywhere now. They have helped me and my son out over the last 2 years. On freecycle you can list items you are willing to give away for free (furniture, clothes, food, etc) and also get items others are giving away for free. Cheapcycle is also good, you can ask for money for certain items - kinda like craigslist.

You are a peach Robin for starting this thread. Most of the links I had saved you already have posted here. If I come across something different I will post it for others.
You really do have a heart of gold.

With so many folks being laid-off and/or losing their jobs altogether, including many Minglers, I realized we have a great resource we haven’t even tapped into...each other.

Along with the difficult task of finding employment, I know there are immediate basic necessities that must be met in the interim. With that in mind, I’ve complied a list of web sites/resources that might be helpful.

I work at home as a Medical Transcription. At the end of the list I’ve provided the names of three legitimate Medical Transcription Corporations I know are hiring. Two I have worked for and one I presently work with.

I have also included a couple of resources with information on writing a resume’.

Please join me in providing other resources available that you are aware of in your area or nationwide.

Please post here the type of employment you are seeking and perhaps another Mingler can hook you up with some leads you hadn’t considered, and/or if re-location is an option for you.

If you are aware of employment opportunities in your area a Mingler might be interested in, please post them here.

Please help me in brain-storming this idea. If you have any suggestions as to how we might additonally assist one another, please post your thoughts here.

It's freecycle.org....it is posted among the links. I am a member. It's a amazing the things you can get for free. When I moved about 9 months ago I no longer needed or had a place to store my window AC unit. I gave it to a young couple who were expecting their first baby.

You just have to go their web site, type in your location or zip code for a group near you.

A lot of communities are now providing land for gardens, with other companies donating starter plants, etc. There are also groups holding "how to" seminars on planting veggies, etc.

Folks can google their local city/town/county website to find info, or call the city office to find out if one exists. (I believe some schools and universities are doing this as well).
