A friend of mine gets the monthly food deal from angelfoodministries, she says its a real good deal.

I get it too. It's a good deal and they have a variety of packages to suit your needs.

however, they don't really offer a vegetarian option. at least, they didn't use to.

They do have all vegetable and/or fruit packages.

Ooohhhhhh....sorry honey I boycott food banks...believe me...I have good reason.

But, other than food banks or churches or boy scouts...or the beggars who set up in front of Wal-Mart...I am IN!

*checks*

you're right, robin...the last time i looked, they didn't have much in the way of vegetarian options.

i might just have to order. that's a decent deal for fruits/veggies, and we certainly go through quite a bit.

Angel Food Ministries is not a food pantry type of thing. Check out their website. They charge for their food.

they aren't a food bank, not really. they charge for the food...but make no actual profit.

it's not free, and it's not out of date.

With so many folks being laid-off and/or losing their jobs altogether, including many Minglers, I realized we have a great resource we haven’t even tapped into...each other.

Along with the difficult task of finding employment, I know there are immediate basic necessities that must be met in the interim. With that in mind, I’ve complied a list of web sites/resources that might be helpful.

I work at home as a Medical Transcription. At the end of the list I’ve provided the names of three legitimate Medical Transcription Corporations I know are hiring. Two I have worked for and one I presently work with.

I have also included a couple of resources with information on writing a resume’.

Please join me in providing other resources available that you are aware of in your area or nationwide.

Please post here the type of employment you are seeking and perhaps another Mingler can hook you up with some leads you hadn’t considered, and/or if re-location is an option for you.

If you are aware of employment opportunities in your area a Mingler might be interested in, please post them here.

Please help me in brain-storming this idea. If you have any suggestions as to how we might additonally assist one another, please post your thoughts here.

Like I said doll...I have good reason.

On the upside...when I recognise the need for compassion and support...I am pretty good about helping my fellow souls...

(((Robin))) you are an angel...

www.indeed.com is a good place for job hunting b/c it lists jobs from various sources (Craigslist, hotjobs, monster, careerbuilder, etc.) so you only have to go to one place..

Helpful Tip:

Two of the best jobs I had were as a result of my submitting a resume' even though they were not advertising for help at that moment. They did have pending positions they weren't ready yet to advertise for, so my early submission of my resume' put me at the top of the list for consideration.

It's worked out that way for me too.
