A lot of communities are now providing land for gardens, with other companies donating starter plants, etc. There are also groups holding "how to" seminars on planting veggies, etc.

Folks can google their local city/town/county website to find info, or call the city office to find out if one exists. (I believe some schools and universities are doing this as well).

A great community idea!

i have been doing foodboxes the last several months out of my home. as i ask for donations and i will buy a few things if needed
i gave out 5 foodboxes last month which is good. now im trying to track down a mini freezer so i can get frozen donations
To bad you are so far away.I have a freeze that I would gladly give you.It is in good shape,No one in the family wants it.

I won't post the link right but this is a medical transcription training course that will let you pay in low monthly payments...

Hmmm... I wonder if we could get it to you Mingler-to-Mingler...in other words, Ruby or someone there, drives it so far and passes off to another Mingler who takes it so far and so on, until it reaches you?

WOW!!! that would be quiet interesting, only if a freezer could talk and say what a journey it went through to get here to help me with more foodboxes laugh

I just bought two flats of cereal for my child to take to a food pantry tomorrow. My child is doing activities with the church's youth group. Tomorrow is their service project. Carloads of people will be taking the food to the pantry and stocking the shelves. It's a great learning experience for the children.happy

Yeah, sorta like passing the torch..we could get them to take pics along the way as a journal of the journey.

I think that's wonderful. Teaches them compassion and thinking beyond their own needs. Kudos to them! flowers

Nice idea.

I have worked for Medquist 5 or 6 times for a total of maybe 7 or 8 years, starting in the mid to late 90s. Will never work for them again. Don't know if you heard they were found guilty of cheating us on our line counts over all those years??? Nice company -- were fined a cool $1 million bucks, but not to be paid to the ex staff they cheated, put into some fund for education or something. I would never go back to work for them.noway grumble

I currently work for local clinics and the hospital and do my own line counts.

I hope the other companies are honest.ohwell
