You should check into the "Needy Meds Program" through your doctor's office - it is where the drug companies supply the medications directly to patients who have limited or no income. Some people get the meds for free, some pay a nominal fee, depends on their income, but you apply through your doctor's office.

Nice idea. I have worked for Medquist 5 or 6 times for a total of maybe 7 or 8 years, starting in the mid to late 90s. Will never work for them again. Don't know if you heard they were found guilty of cheating us on our line counts over all those years??? Nice company -- were fined a cool $1 million bucks, but not to be paid to the ex staff they cheated, put into some fund for education or something. I would never go back to work for them. I currently work for local clinics and the hospital and do my own line counts. I hope the other companies are honest. Yes, I did hear about Medquist through mail...from Medquist themselves. Still, when I worked for them they were a great company to work for. The other companies I worked for and currently work for are legit, I assure you. |

I even know of one drug rep working with someone at one of our clinics to supply a patient with insulin. He is on Medicare but they won't cover him for the amount he needs for the whole month so the clinic contacted the drug rep for the insulin supplier and he started supplying the insulin (he was short) for free for this patient, to make sure the patient would get the insulin he needed. There are people out there willing to help. |

I thought it was illegal to get fired for being sick. It is....unless all the proper steps have been followed through on and no abuse of the 'sick' system have been found. |

Anyone have resources for free or low cost school supplies? The only thing I've been able to find is the Salvation Army provides school supplies in some communities. I've provided the link so that you can find one near you.
http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/www_usn_2.nsf I don't have kids, so I just I'm just not plugged into those resources..so, moms and dads, need your help. |
