didnt know that the switch happened, dont really care given i watch very little tv.

When I lived in the mountains & didn't have the Dish yet (I guess the cable wasn't long enough to reach my house  ), I went without TV (or Internet for that matter) for an entire year...it was very liberating...well, after the TV junkie withdrawals were over...

I had two stations off-the-air until a few days ago. Then poof, they were gone. I bought two converter boxes about six months ago and even with the coupons it cost me over $50. Wally World was constantly out of them and Radio Shanty ripped me off.

Anyways, I hooked up one of the boxes and Far Out Man, I thought I had cable again 4 weather channels, 5 religious channels and a big bunch of other channels. Then it started to happen. No matter how I adjusted the antennae the sound would drop out totally and then resume. Worse than a fuzzy picture. Iput the box away in the closet.

Two things are happening. I live far out in the country and I live in a polebarn house. A metal building that airwaves won't penetrate easily. In order to receive better signals I would have to put up a tall antennae outside at the cost of $300-400.

There are only about 3 shows on tv that are worth watching, so goodby tv.

Supposedly the reason for the switch is to free up over the air bandwith for other stuff.

I just checked my bedroom tv and I still get everything...hooray.

There are lots of other options like Hulu. PS3 and Xbox 360 should get support for Hulu soon as well.

I have satellite (Dish) and not noticed a difference. I'm thinking of switching to cable in the fall... and hope any/all bugs get worked out before then.

The switch did not effect for those who have satellite or cable. Those are already transmitted in digital.

Was set for it at the first deadline. Then when they finally switched it had to reset the stations again. Irritating.

Yeah me too.

lilith, wouldn't you be paying more and getting less channels if you switched to cable from the Dish?
