Good Evening Pals. I hope everyone had a great day. It seems that alot of people getting their hair done in the summer.If you've seen my picture with baby joe,my hair is long,can't make up my mind to cut it or not.It is rained here,Nemo wouldn't go out for his last walk,he hates the rain but loves to get in the tub.[silly dog] Have a good night.

Got a paw letter from Buttercup! (Lilbug) Very sweet and on my fridge and a card from PLK1966 (Patti). Had a sucky azz day. I am so sick of the rain already! Mailed out a couple of packages and had a heart to heart with my youngest daughter which I don't think went over to well. I just want her to be healthy and not have to go through all that I have. Sorry for unloading but what are dear friends for??? Hugs

I tried talking to her about getting her weight down and she thinks I don't take her as she is. That is so not true! I don't want her to turn out like her father! She has a lot to loose and I guess I have to be the bad person. So be it then!

My almost 30 yr. old daughter is sorta heavy. I have never said anything to her about her weight...(but her siblings tease her about it)...she just laughs along with them. She's been married for about 10 yrs. and from what I can see, she seems very happy...(she & hubby live in Australia).

Sherry you can't force her to want to lose weight that is not gonna work believe me. You should know from experience that the person losing the weight must want it themselves otherwise all that is gonna happen is she will lose some weight just to make you happy but then she will put it back on again and then maybe even more than she lost.

Here is the catch though her health is going down the drain and she makes excuses for why she doesn't want to loose weight. She is 16 and weighs 280 lbs. She is very sad most of the time and want a lap band. She needs to try everything else and that should be a last resort!

I know this is a personal question but I have been heavy most of my adult life, does she have self esteem issues? I found that once I conqueered some of mine I realized that I needed to get healthy and start loosing weight for myself

Good morning, pals!

Good morning (((((((((((PALS))))))))))))))!

I have a brother who has been obese for most of his life. At his most weight he weighed over 400 pounds. Everyone, including him, knew it wasn't healthy, but no amount of talking or counseling got him to start losing. What it took was a medical scare and it seemed like overnight his attitude changed and the weight came off. My point is, when she is ready, whatever it takes for her personally to turn things around, she will do it then and only then. I know it's hard to just standby and wait, but really, other than setting a good example and reinforcing the positives about her, that's all you can do. She knows the medical risks and she knows you care about her, so the 'accepting her as she is' is just a crutch for her at this point. The less the people around her focus on her weight, the more she will begin to.
