I got some very sad news today.
I have this Muslim family at my school that I became very close to. It started the day after 9/11 when I saw this women standing at the front door of my school just silently crying (yes, she wears a veil etc.) I went and ask her if I could help help, and as her tears turned to soft sobs, she told me that the school bus driver drove up to her house, glared at them as they were walking to it, then tore off without picking up her child. Well, that really ticked me off cause no one, and I mean NO ONE who has any kind of prejudges needs to be in a school setting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took her into the office to speak to the principal, and our friendship was born. Over the years, she has had 3 of the most wonderful children that walks this earth come to our school and I had the privilege to work with all of them. They have shared their Faith, their home, and most importantly, their love and friendship with me. This summer they made their way back to Egypt to visit their family. While there, the dad had a heart attack and died. I am happy that he was in his homeland if this terrible thing had to happen, but so very heartbroken for the kids and Fatima! Please keep my dear, dear friends in your prayers! |

I got a card in the mail today from Merle. Very cute card. Today's weather was beautiful. Had a nice time swimming and cooking out. The summer is flying by way to fast. Got to get out and enjoy it everyday while it is here. Night everyone. Have a fantastic night.

Good morning everyone. It is cloudy but nice out. Got to make a list to go grocery shopping. My least favorite job! They are having a great sale this week at our local market. Save Save Save. I think I need new pillows. I keep waking up with a headache. Okay I am off to shower, dress, grocery shop (oh I can't wait) RIGHT! Talk to all of you wonderful people later today sometime. Hope more people join in the fun of our little family. Hugs all around.

Happy Friday everyone. Oh the big move is coming up tomorrow. I just had my carpets cleaned, holy cow they were gross! Now they are fresh and clean for whoever lives here next. I am so excited to get this move over with.
I have a few things already for my pal, but I am going to wait til Monday to mail them, this way I can add to it and also I don't have a box to mail them in. Have a safe and happy weekend everyone. I'll be offline this afternoon til sometime on Sunday evening.
