BHO sure as HeII ain't makin' all those jobs he promised. So far, nothing but business closures, layoffs and firings.
He has a lot of catching up to do to get all those folks jobs.

I know, St Louis is some sort of heaven where noone except GM workers are affetcted by BHO.

What you are talking about started before Obama became President.

I'm saying he has made empty promises. All I've seen since he's been in is this country going farther downhill.

Where are all these jobs he promised??

I'm not seeing it going farther downhill in my area. Jobs? It takes time. It doesn't happen over night. It took years to get where we are now and it will take time to recover.

I blame it on the greedy workers who earn a average of 75 dollars a hour. The company is about to go under and yet the workers are just as greedy if not worse than the CEO's.Truly amazing when people would rather be greedy and loose everything then to take a pay cut and have a steady income. They are reaping their own self destruction!

If they go overseas, I'm never buying another car from them.explode

You did? You gave them money for failing to be the best? Then you're part of their problem. You have enabled them to become complicit and to forget about customer. They money (your's) were flowing to them whether they were doing the right thing or not!

What are you talking about?laugh

You never did buy from them? Then you're not the problem.

GM not only made a huge mistake of making cars few people wanted or could afford, for forty years they ignored the growth markets of the world even when the growth markets were here in the US. Honda and Toyota grew while GM's market share shrank year after year. The sharp minds of foreign car companies saw ways to make money where GM never even tried.

GM blamed much of this problem on the unions who caused GM to be noncompetitive. GM could have built plants overseas and competed head on but chose not to. Historically, the unions have hurt the US car industry.

Bail out money for GM doesn't make sense due to the fact that the uncompetitive nature of their product is due to a long history of incompetence and not some curable temporary problem. Any new car developed by GM such as the Chevy Volt will have several foreign rivals ready to go. Some rivals may arrive sooner and some may have higher quality and others lower prices.

$75, and that is without even having to be a good worker.

I still like Tahoe. Except the stupid gear shift, why can't they put it where it supposed to be?

A car, yes, not some trash. (Like I said above, Tahoe and Subs are exception).

There is nothing that they make, that interests me, as for Tahoe and Suburban, there were always other ones, I wanted more at the moment.

Put back in Fair Trade, protect American jobs through tariffs, and the big three's problems are over.

I've heard $75 and even higher from other sources. These auto workers really did forked money over into their pockets like it was autumn leaves.

B.S. How is that going to improve their quality? You do that, and you freaking guarantee them their money. Now, that their money guaranteed, they couldn't care less about quality or anything else.

Case in point: Heavily unionized, protected auto-industry of USSR. Last time I have a chance of seeing their cars and trucks, they sucked. Everyone knows they sucked most ever since they become trade-protected.

I salute Ford who didn't take any bail out money. They still have complete control over their company.Obama more less owns GM now.If GM was going to do bankruptcy anyways they could have still owned the company by not taking the bail out money.

Well, I prefer the highest figure I ever heard, as it is exemplary of a ridiculous situation when a country is forced to bail out the rich auto-industry, who after all, move the production overseas.

As you are trying to assist the bailing out of rich and their move of American jobs overseas, I would see how you'd use the lowball number.
