yes i did ask her mom. she said she said she don't know how she doing because she can't get in contact with her.

Well that settles it then. They are not even allowing her access to her immediate family. It could be because she is fighting them on her treatment also. You just never know what is going on except that they have decided not to give her access to anyone on the outside. If I were you I would move on if there was no commitment before she went in. You could send her a letter and see if it is returned.

yes that's right thank you Mazikeen.flowerforyou she said before she went into rehab that me and her are still together. i might try to send a letter" i don't know the name of the place she didnt say i do really love her and in my mind no woman can take her place in my heart.

Good luck, EZ. You're going to learn a lot. flowerforyou

Do you know if it's a 12-step program or a cognitive therapy program?

Thank ya.

I'm pretty sure it's 12 step.

What is cognitive therapy? I think I might look into that if you make it sound good.

12 steps always seem too religion oriented to me. I have a hard time believing in 'higher powers'. I don't think anything has more control over my life than I do.

Not that I don't respect the 12 steps. They have helped millions. I just don't think, from experience, that they're the best for me. But right now I am willing to try anything in order to stay out of prison and work on finding the best way.

Well, I checked myself into rehab today. I start Thursday night in an outpatient evening program. They wanted me to do the day program, or start tomorrow night. But I can't or won't quit school so close to graduation for the day program. And I gotta run it by my probation officer on Thursday before I can just start the evening program since it violates my curfew. But I'm sure she won't have any problems with it.

I am an addict but don't really think I need help quitting anything since I quit everything but cigarettes cold turkey about 2 weeks ago. But who am I to judge? What I do need is guidance to stay clean and find out what to do next. In addition I am hoping rehab will keep me out of prison. If the judge orders me to join the inpatient program, I have no choice but to put school on hold.

So I hope this is the point at which I can turn my life around and hopefully actually do something with it.

thats a huge step.

good luck sheezy :P i'll light candles for ya and do a raindance. :p not that the raindance will help but maybe we'll get it on film, get it to you and you can laugh hysterically at it. :p

I do wish you all the luck in the world.

But you know the first step is to admit there is a problem then it is easier to deal with the steps of the program as well.

Best of luck to you!!

Hi Folks,

Txs is so right! It doesn't matter how anyone gets to the point where they need help. The key is to treat the treatment with all do respect. When you do this you will start "treating" yourself with the respect you deserve as well.

Being true to yourself is what allows us to grow and see the positive side of life and the positive side of ourselves.

God bless you as you take this step,

michael

Rehab helped me to get faith in myself to go to college. It has been over twenty-five years since I went in that cold February day. I was so stoned and drunk I didn't know which way was up. Two large men I have to thank for keeping from trying to commit suicide by way of freezing in the snow. It was a practicising drunk who twelve stepped me then. He said that it worked for him for a little while. I got the name Rainbow because I had a handfull of pills I had taken and they were so pretty. Didn't really know what the pills were. All they said to me was that they could get me high. I am glad that you are trying to make something out of yourself. It has been a great way of life for me and feel like my life really started in detox. Most everything before that seemed like a blackout. Hope it all works out for you.
