You must live in an exclusive neighborhood!

Report finds St. Louis most dangerous U.S. city
Research group: Violent crime grew by 20 percent; Detroit at No. 2

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15475741/

Scott Morgan, president of Morgan Quitno Press, a private research and publishing company specializing in state and city reference books, said he was not surprised to see St. Louis top the list, since it has been among the 10 most dangerous cities for years.

The national FBI figures released in June showed the murder rate in St. Louis jumped 16 percent in 2005, compared with 4.8 percent nationally. The overall violent crime rate increased nearly 20 percent, compared with 2.5 percent nationally.

This is a classic, tried-and-true, right wing scare tactic.

____________(fill in name of political opponent) is going to take your guns away.

Well, we've been an independent nation since 1776 and the raids on peoples' homes to take their guns have not as yet materialized. Wait, uh-oh. Who's that at the door? Whew! It was only the Jehovahs.

Tell that to the people of New Orleans. When "government" finally came in "to help" the people who were'nt effected by the floods weapons were taken so they had no protection. Guns confiscated, yet they were allowed to stay in their homes, just not protect them or their families.

It has happened, it will happen, it is happening.

ANY who are not scarred, should be!
That is so tru, the cops,(the ones that didn't abandon their post) disarmed citizens trying to protect their own property. If you have a gun in your car (legal in Louisiana) they demand a reciept for proof on the spot and cause you the hassle of having to go to the station and jump through hoops to retrieve it

A lot of Louisiana cops are border line crooks themselves

I think a couple weeks at their schooling is devoted entirely to "how to be a prick"

Those reports include the St. Louis Metro area. That includes a large area and a part of IL. It includes St. Louis county, St. Charles county and Jefferson County. It's not just the city.

I have to drive an hour to get to a bad neighborhood. They are talking about that neighborhood. It has a few gangs that shoot each other. That racks up the points in one night. lol

Crime is almost non-existent in my neighborhood. I can walk around a night with no worries. I've slept with the door unlocked.

Your just mad about what I said about Hendersonville on the other thread.laugh flowerforyou

NEWS FLASH!!!!

I just saw Barack Obama go in my neighbor's house and come out carrying a rifle. I must be on the no-gun list. He walked right past my house.

I guess if Santa Claus can get to every kid's house in the world in one night, Barack can get to every gun owner's house in maybe a week or so.

Got a very low crime rate in our area...but, when you know that EVERYONE has a fire arm...tends to make people do fewer stupid things....

Hell, even my Mom and sister carry a pistol in thier purses and sawed off shot guns in thier vehicles....they would never harm anyone...unless push comes to shove.

Would any of the pacifistic gun control people want to deny thier loved ones the right to protect themselves.....?

I doubt it.

Negative winx. Quite the opposite!

Morgan said the study looks at crime only within St. Louis city limits, with a population of about 330,000. It doesn’t take into account the suburbs in St. Louis County, which has roughly 980,000 residents.

I agree, it is my desire that I would never have to use mine for self defense or to protect a loved one.

but

I am quite capable if the need arises

and prepared

If someone doesn't want a gun, that is fine, no problem, it is their right

but don't deny law abiding citizens the right

If something bad happens, your first line of defense in YOU

offtopic And tit for tat!

I told you were the crime was happening. It's an hour from me (on the other side of the city) in a neighborhood that has gangs. The gangs are shooting each other. Poof...5 dead in one night within those gangs. That's why the numbers are high. The rest of the crimes are the usual in a city.

So..what does this have to do with the thread, btw?

gang punks with guns running around all over is another reason I'm glad I have my gun. At least if they come here they will wish they chose another victim

gang punks with guns should be prosecuted to the full extent possible
