We felt bad for Thomas, so we gave him a S.O. for his final win this post season. We just wanted to end the series at home, which we shall do Tuesday, my friend. We're already looking toward mopping up what's left over from the Caps/Pens. They're really destroying each other.

An aside: Are Boston fans as rude at home as the transplants are at games in Raleigh? I think the term "Mass-holes" was used on our local radio station to describe how they acted after the last game of the regular season.....

First of all U can dispose of the sympathy card for that gets no play at the beloved B's spoked & round table.Ur team didn't give the B's much last night well w/the exception of about 12 min.'s of Hockey.he-he.Now we have 3 reasons to dump them from the playoffs.1)To relieve them from a play-off run that they don't even deserve or earned this yr.2)To shed them of their cockiness & over inflated egos that they developed while thinking they could actually sweep the Big Bad Boston Bruins out of the playoffs.3)To face a deserving team & a true contender as we cont.our quest for the cherished trophy.Awwww! what's the matter? My beloved B's returned to their true form & brought out their physical aspect of the game.Apparently to much for ur candy Canes hey? We're not nearly done w/ them yet & they shall fall at home before there rowdy fans tues.night.Your candy canes better dress into their rusty battle gear for they are about to pay a stiff price for the slash to Chara's ankle & the damage to A.Ward's orbital bone. The candy Canes are about to pay HUGE dividends over the next 2 games.lol.;)Personally I can't wait. We're going to sweep their sorry azz's right out of the playoffs the same way we swept them all 4 games throughout the season.Your opinion of the B's fans is mere conjecture on your part & really doesn't warrant any further comment from myself.U need not worry about Pens/Caps for ur team will be on the golf course as we advance to-wards the next round.I think the candy Canes are as dirty as ur screen name & it's time for us to give them a bearific scrubbing.rofl Go! Bruins!!p.s.Tell waskly Ward & Co. they should never poke Bears. drinker

BOSTON - Boston Bruins defenceman Aaron Ward left Sunday night's playoff game with what team doctors fear is a broken orbital bone after he was punched by Carolina's Scott Walker.Bruins coach Claude Julien asked the NHL to look into the play, and complained about Jussi Jokinen's slash that sent Zdeno Chara to the locker room with less than a minute left in the second period.

"The slash on Zdeno is a cheap shot; we all know that. The Walker incident is not something they should be proud of," Julien said after Boston beat Carolina 4-0 in Game 5 to avoid elimination in the Eastern Conference semifinals. "Something like that is not what you want to see, your player put in that position. Hopefully the people in charge will see that play and decide what they want to do about it."

Ward left the game with 2:47 remaining after Walker punched him in the face. Walker was given a misconduct, a fighting major and an instigator penalty.Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice laughed off the possible repercussions.
"Scott probably has sore knuckles," he said.Asked whether there will be a fine, he added: "I may have to sell my truck."{What an arrogant chump he is}grumble

The rarefied air you are breathing good sir may have clouded your good judgment and memory.

1) A nine (9) game win streak (12 at home) at the end of the season to lock us in the playoffs? You're right, no way THAT was earned. (BTW- Jersey had a longer home win streak going at the time, guess who broke it?)

2)Cockiness and ego? Avery plays for the Rangers, not down here in the land of sweet tea and Stanly Cups.

3)I'll email you some pics of Brind'Amour and the cup in a few weeks, as they make their way past the capitol building (On a tractor). As I watch the procession, I'll pour out some Sam Adam's (or what ever it is ya'll drink, just let me know) in remembrance of how we got there.

Chara was just hamming it up to draw a penalty. He wasn't hurt. He played a third of the minutes in the third period. "Magic" by the trainers my ***.

And While A. Ward certainly may not have expected it, the punch was from right out front, and he saw it coming. He needs to remember how good we were to him here. I hope his face isn't broken, he's a decent guy. But this is hockey, and you yourself extolled the "physical aspect" of the game. So much for "poking bears".....

Hmmmm! The last time I checked on the air quality in/around Mass it was within the normal parameters of acceptable breathing quality & standards set within the state/govt regulations so I'm afraid the cloudiness is not an issue here.Woo-Hoo!I'm completely aware of there season ending streak w/ looks mighty fine on the stats sheets but not nearly good enough to outlast 4 opponents & lift the cherished Cup.Ummmm! N.J.come on PLEASE!! U speak of them as if they were still the same tenacious contenders that they were in the past w/ there 2 Cups & C.Julien's expertise coaching. They have a very long road ahead of them before they ever return to that winning form. There formula is now quite contaminated & the infamous M.Broduer is certainly not enough to bring the Cup back to N.J.There is a HUGE diff.between bringing your physical aspect to the game & playing DIRTY w/ cheap shots. If U Luv & understand this sport as well as myself then U know exactly what I'm saying here.U have to have rivalry between 2 clubs in a series in order to elevate the intensity & excitement level for the players & all of the fans. That my friend is a req. & a given.Your team responded w/ cheap shots because they were clearly outplayed & controlled the entire game. Now we have the rivalry in place so it's time to do Battle(cleanly that is).I shall not be boastful or naive by saying that my beloved B's shall lift the Cup for we are primarily made up of a newly re-built youthful core. But w/ that being said I'm quite certain that we shall dump the Canes from the playoffs & if I were them I'd grow eyes behind their heads.p.s.Your kidding right? There is a standard protocol that generally occurs between 2 players who are about to fight. Is this not true? They face off w/ each other, gloves are dropped then let the better man win. Then the ref's intervene.Walker threw a blindsided sucker punch at Ward.Huge diff.my friend.I can't wait for M.Lucic or S.Thornton to take care of that lil piece of bizz.Your parade is going to consist of several golf carts lined up & the Canes sporting tacky clothing.Na-Na-Na-Na/Na-Na-Na-Na/Hey! I strongly sense uncertainty on your part concerning the outcome of your cryogenic Canes. The reason I state this is because it is blatantly obvious that U are veering off the true topic at hand.Which of course is the impending loss of ur candy Canes.Look on the bright side for there is always next yr right? My beloved B's are going to show the Canes who the true & deserving candidates are very shortly.Giving up?Please! now who is the 1 who is truly becoming disillusioned by airborne pollution.I'm not going to re-type everything I stated above.U can re-read my words above for clarification if needed.Myself nor the 1000's of fans of our beloved B's ever give up hope or support.Just another clever distraction on ur part. The B's will dispose of your cryogenic Canes soon enough. But don't fret for I have an excuse list for your sub-par team to give to their disgruntled fans.he-he;)p.s.I'll send U some beautiful wallpapers from the downtown parade in Boston.

Chiarelli Statement Re: Walker Suspension Boston Bruins May 11, 2009, 7:44 PM EDT BOSTON, MA – The Boston Bruins released the following statement from General Manager Peter Chiarelli regarding the NHL’s decision to rescind the automatic suspension that Scott Walker received as a result of the instigator penalty assessed to him with 2:47 remaining in the third period of Sunday’s game:

“We respectfully disagree with the NHL's ruling to rescind the automatic suspension to Scott Walker, but we will abide by the League’s ruling.”

Cy's footnote:I also strongly disagree w/ this ruling also. This type of infraction generally calls for a suspension.Instead he was handed some minuscule fine w/ an insult delivered to the press from the Canes arrogant coach. The Canes can expect & shall receive a highly physical game for the remainder of the series.Watch your back;Walker for my beloved B's are about to pounce all over your sorry azz.Personally;I can't wait for this eve.'s Game #6 to get under way. They are aboard Bear Force One & heading to"sticksville"N.C.The cryogenic Canes are about to be taught a valuable lesson

Ward will play for Bruins in Game 6 Tuesday, 05.12.2009 Boston vs. Carolina

Despite concerns to the contrary, Aaron Ward will be in the Boston Bruins' lineup for Tuesday's Game 6 here at the RBC Center (7 p.m. ET, VERSUS, TSN, RDS)Ward, part of Boston's top defensive pair with Zdeno Chara, was injured at the tail end of Boston's series-extending Game 5 victory Sunday when Carolina's Scott Walker joined a scrum between Ward and Matt Cullen and threw a punch that connected with Ward's left eye.The veteran defensemen underwent two days of testing because team doctors feared Ward might have suffered a broken orbital bone and there were serious concerns that he would be unavailable for Game 6. But Ward went through a rigorous morning skate Tuesday without any noticeable limitations.

"Mentally, I'm a little rattled with 47 cameras in my face over watching a YouTube replay for the past two days, over something so irrelevant to the game," Ward said as he faced the media for the first time since the incident. "Hopefully, I can refocus at 12:30 (p.m.), the pre-game meal, and put it all behind me."There is still some discomfort around the eye, but not enough to preclude Ward from playing in what could be Boston's final game if it doesn't find a way to win Game 6."The doctor saw something in the X-ray, (I was) advised to wear a visor," Ward said. “(I) haven't worn one in 16 years and I'm not going to start now."

Bruins coach Claude Julien is happy that Ward will be in the lineup. He and Chara are often deployed against Carolina’s top line. Julien says there were legitimate fears that Ward would not be able to answer the bell for Game 6."There was concern (yesterday) about it and it looked even more like he wasn't going to play," Julien said. "I guess we got a little bit lucky here and we've got a guy back in our lineup and, hopefully, (he's) ready to play."Both player and coach stressed, however, that for them all the hoopla around the incident and the lack of a suspension being levied by the League to Walker is now a thing of the past.

"There's no doubt you have to block that stuff out," Julien said. "It is one of those situations where you have to focus on what's important right now and the important thing is certainly to win. And, how do the Bruins plan to go about winning Game 6 and forcing a Game 7 in Boston on Thursday night?"Continuing to play the same as Game 5, that's it," Ward said. drinker smokin

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -Mark Recchi and the Boston Bruins instead moved closer to giving the Carolina Hurricanes a different kind of knockout punch.Recchi had a goal and an assist, and the Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 Tuesday night to even the Eastern Conference semifinals and force a decisive Game 7.

Marc Savard scored before leaving in the third period with an apparent leg injury. Steve Montador and Chuck Kobasew also connected, Patrice Bergeron had two assists and Tim Thomas stopped 31 shots in his second straight victory. The NHL's top remaining seed led 2-0 barely 5 minutes in and made it stand to win its second straight since falling behind 3-1 in the series. Its reward: A trip back to Boston for Thursday night's Game 7, their first at home since losing in the first round to Montreal in 2004.

And there wasn't even any need to retaliate for what they considered a sucker punch thrown by Carolina's Scott Walker near the end of Game 5.Matt Cullen and Sergei Samsonov scored for the Hurricanes. Their first losing streak of the playoffs has put them in danger of blowing a 3-1 series lead for the first time in franchise history. Then again, Game 7s are nothing new for Carolina. Each of the Hurricanes' previous three playoff series dating to the 2006 Stanley Cup run also went the full seven games, and they won all three.

Cam Ward stopped 15 shots and allowed four goals for the second straight game. In four previous starts after a loss, he was 4-0 and had allowed a total of four goals. The series between one-time New England rivals received a jolt of bad blood two nights earlier, when Walker dropped Aaron Ward with a right cross that led to the NHL fining the Hurricanes forward $2,500, but no suspension. The injury didn't cost Ward any playing time either; he logged about 20 minutes while playing with a shiner around his left eye. But the Bruins promised to never forget what they felt was a cheap shot.

For now, though, they were content to do their talking between the whistles.Boston had two goals before the Hurricanes registered their second shot on net. Patrice Bergeron set up the first goal by dumping the puck to Recchi, who tapped it in for his 50th career playoff goal and third of the series. Montador then made it a two-goal game with a slap shot from behind the left circle.Cullen scored the Hurricanes' first goal since Game 4 when he flipped a backhander over an outstretched Thomas nearly 3 minutes into the second period. But Savard restored the Bruins' two-goal advantage roughly 6 minutes later with a one-timer that clipped the near post and went in for his fourth goal of the series.
