Well, the biased sports media's at it again:

The Chase begins this weekend. 12 drivers who's earned their time in the spotlight, and should be focused on. BUT, oh no, says the media. The top story this weekend? Forget the chase, it's;

DALE EARNHARDT,JR ANNOUNCES NEW NUMBER FOR NEXT SEASON!

That's all they're talking about! And, even though I've defended him in this thread, partial blame for this one HAS to go to Little E. He could've held up the announcement. It's not a big story--or, it shouldn't have been. JR knew the media would stick their collective noses right up his underacheiving arse.

Dale Earnhardt,JR is the Nascar equivilent of the Boston Red Sox(baseball),Notre Dame(college football) and the Green Bay Pukers(pro). No matter how much they suck, the media constantly makes excuses for them.

Ok..Lt's look at the reasons that the engines blew for Junior. The last one was a belt that broke which runs the oil pump.
One before that was a balancer on the front of the engine fell off and hit the oil lines.They don't go far without oil. The engine builders said that they are having a problem adjusting to the new fuel! Are these guys back-yard mechanics?? I hope not! Are they SUPPOSED to be the best and highest paid in the business?? Some of the other blow-ups were valve springs that brove which allows the engine to swallow a valve...oops! Are they putting too many hours on a set of springs?? These are RACE CARS. They should be able to take all the punishment handed out to them.The Hendricks team NEVER blows engines. BYE BYE DEI. D.ead E.ngines I.nc....

I'm a big fan of Ryan Newmwn but i like Mark Martin too now that he's not driving a dang Ford!.

To all the Gordon,Stewart,and Johnson fans,sorry but those 3 guy are the biggest whiners in Nascar!.If Stewart or Johnson cried any more than they already do,they wouldn't be able to race because the tracks would be flooded!

Wonder what "non-story" they'll come up with THIS week to make sure the media focuses squarely on "Little E" insead of the Chase, which Little E wasn't talented enough to make.

Now you know if the engine builders would have tightened that harmonic balancer he would have made it knox.

I wonder what excuse he will use next year? Adjusting to the new team??

I agree Fanta..the tightening of the harmonic balancer would have made a great difference in allowing the driver to finish that race. I am glad to see that you are in agreement. The setup was no good this weekend. Jr. had to wrestle the car around the turns and the back cut loose on him and made him spin. These races are a team effort. If ya don't have a set-up that works...you don't stand a chance of winning,let alone completing the race. My biggest problem right now is the fact that Junior took Tony Eury Jr. with him to Hendricks. Tony makes a lot of bad decisions and I was hoping that he would stay with DEI. He is Juniors cousin and I guess he felt obligated to his blood. That's how Junior is. He cares about his sister and his immediate relatives. He also hired Tony Sr. to head the operations at JR Racing. He said that he needs to do the best he can so he can keep his Grandmother and others living a good life. He is a good man with a heart of gold.

Clint Boyer won the race.

Clint said that his car would stick through the center of the turns where the other guys were sliding out. This is another example of this sport being a team effort. Clint is no better than any of these other top stars. His car WAS bettter though. He was riding around like a train on tracks. Nothing could touch that CAR.
Knoxman I have not seen who your drivers are. Who do you support besides being unsupportive and critical. Those fair weather fans that only support drivers when they are doing good and jump on the band wagon don't cut it. You are either with them or without them.

I was going to look, but figured I would ask you first. Alright, I like Clint, he's from my home state of Kansas and he's also a favorite of a friend of mine in Kansas. I will have to call him and tell him it's great to hear that he won, just wish I had seen it, I will check out the details on the website. I seen some on there from last week. Great highlights on there.

Johnson is a good driver. His record proves that his team is a great one. That's why they always talk with the words we and us. They never say I won it...or I am all that matters. That team makes that car the best and the driver makes it go as fast as it will physically move without hitting the wall or spinning out.

Lakeman, please re-read my posts.

I never said I disliked JR. I was referring to the way the media fawns all over him at every occasion, at the expense of more deserving drivers. That's not being critical, that's being honest. JR, while a good driver, is in no way an upper-echelon driver. I'm sorry, but he simply is not the driver his father was. Don't blame me for that, blame the people who put JR on a pedestal that puts undue pressure on him. Remember, Lakeman, honesty should not be confused with negativety, which I think you're doing here as far as my comments go.

My favorite driver? Sadly, mine is easing his way out of the sport--Mark Martin.
