Did that get your attention?(lol) Seriously though that is the title of a book I read recently about internet dating. Interesting what the author had to say about it and also some of her "subjects". So what do you like and dislike about internet dating?

Dislike:It's a revolving door.

what i like about internet dating is meeting new and interesting people............the only problem with that is a 20 year old photo from the person is posted.........mine are current......i guess i expect the same..........20 years, people change in many ways, personality, looks, habits........maybe i am asking for too much.......just my opinion.......not trying to offend any1 at all.............just being careful is all..........

When a site alerts me to the fact that someone showed interest in me or he wants to meet me or buy me the Empress Carlotta jewels and then he falls off the face of the earth I have to wonder if his wife came home, his nurse put him back to bed, his meds kicked in, there was lock-down at the pen or what! I've gotten winks, hugs, raspberries, wedgies, kisses, horns honked but the minute I respond at all....poof! He's gone. And photos! Don't get me started. Some of the pics that people have chosen as their very best to put out there to represent themselves is outrageous. The real winners are the photos with a woman snuggled up next to him. Or just a woman's arm draped around him. Ha! Also, the pics where he (and women do these things too) is standing at the bottom of The Grand Canyon and he looks like an ant in a bucket. But, I keep at it over and over again.

I am here for friends & conversation.
If ANYTHING else comes around, it is just a plus.
Don't EXPECT ANYTHING & you will have more fun.
I figure about 10% of these people will be sincere & truthful.
We all have to keep ourselves safe & watch eachother's backs.
Warn admin & eachother of scammers & user's.

Haven't really tried the dating aspect of a dating site, but I enjoy the forums. Seems like some nice people around, and the wit and banter keeps me coming back for more. But I'm not real sure about dating.

Lies, last date his pic was 10 years younger. The one before that lied about age he was six years older.The one before that lied about getting divorced. And lies about what kind of relationship they want. Now as friends I've met on here that is different:) but dates man o. lol

That is what dating is for................to find out.............. its not internet marraige. LOL

Last date I had, I was #3 on his list of maybees. Seems he met us in order,and was keeping score which one he could get the most from. Sigh, I lost out when I didn't immediately invite him to my house. Ohhhh my, what a loss that was!
There are not alot of men who live close to me who are in Mingles.
I have been going to a chat forum for 9 years, and I have seen all kinds of things happen, from 'internet' marriages, to long distance meetings arranged and they get left at the airport. There have been a very few matches where people meet and marry. So when someone asks to talk to me on the phone, or meet, I am very leery. Like Carol said, alot of them lie about what they look like, their ages, and especially their intentions. Most that have spoken with me are looking for a few hours of fun, either phone sex, or to meet up for a couple hours of sex, although of course when they talk to you they swear they are looking for someone to spend time with.

2 recent interesting ones....I'm pretty far out of area for easy dating, so don't usually get anything that even remotely sounds like a date...

Number 1 guy.....I could relocate. We could move in together. I can get a job there. Whats your phone number? I am a standup guy.


Number 2 guy ...Normal chit chat about weather, etc., then "by the way, do you still like sex?"

Well its better than being ignored, but no way am I going to give out my phone number. IF...BIG IF...I thought this person was someone I wanted to get to know better, I'd get one of those throw away phones and give out that number.

Course, sage and most of guys here aren't that pushy type!
