Why is the sky blue?

Excellent question you have for me. On page one of this thread, DTHRomeo asked the same question only in Spanish. So I will again answer this question but this time in English.

All light travels in a straight line unless something gets in the way to:
1. reflect it (like a mirror)
2. bend it (like a prism)
C. scatter it (like molecules of the gases in the atmosphere)

Sunlight which appears to be white, is made up of all the colors of the rainbow. It reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of air in Earth's atmosphere. Blue is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.

Be happy!

Please post your questions and comments and I shall respond just as soon as I am done with my appointment. My most excellent client is here for her deep tissue intense meditation session.

I'm not knowing about her, but I will be functioning well beyond my normal parameters after the session.

most of the time?

Yes, sometimes the sky is purple, sometimes it's a lighter shade of pale.

Now go away and be happy!

But most of all, go away!

I'm about to get my groove on...!

Crash Test Guru, What do you see in my future?

Linda, I am so pleased that you have honored me by accepting my invitation to visit me here. Now about your question... indeed it is a tough one to answer.

I am concentrating...

I am still concentrating...

I'm getting a picture:

Please give me a moment to meditate on your question.

Crash Test Guru, What do you see in my future?

In the very near future, you will receive news of a rare giant tropical bird that was spotted over Lake Eerie. Naturally without any hesitation, you put together a team of experts on exotic tropical birds, a Native American guide and two trucks fully equipped to handle the rugged terrain to Lake Eerie as you'll be taking the scenic route... and of course, your personal trainer Bjourk will also accompany you on this journey.

The picture I'm getting is very complicated. At this point, I must ask you if you wish for me to continue...

I understand. No need to continue. I know what you are talking about. Thank you All Mighty Guru!
Its time for me to head to bed now. Thank you so much.
I will think of something else to ask tomorrow.

Andy, I trust that you are continuesly being good...!

I thank you for your question, and here is your answer. Time is thought--merely a concept about the past, future that is some sort of fear, worry, regret that can only be happening NOW. A thought cannot happen five minutes, five hours, five weeks or five years ago... There is an immediate registering that is happening spontaneously that cannot be 'turned off' so to speak. These thoughts, as you seem to recognize, are ephemeral appearances that cannot last. Whatever these stories may be, stories of pain, stories of suffering, stories of bliss, stories of peace, they appear and disappear without exception. All of these appearances in consciousness are transient, yet what 'you' ARE is the changeless, infinite background in which these seemingly separate images appear; just THIS. THIS is the changeless background in which all of the apparently separate objects appear on and/or in.

Furthermore, what knows the mind? Is 'me' or 'I' or 'your name' a thought? Can thoughts know thought?

So by asking the question of running towards either the sunset or the sunrise, there is nothing to get or receive, no 'special' understanding or esoteric gain of any sort. Recognize that the KNOWING....is not a thought. The effortless registering, that is ALWAYS shining this SEEING, for example of the computer monitor, doesn't require a thought. Any more research on your part to obtain an answer to your question is immediately and ultimately futile because 'you' already ARE the infinite! What would be needed to add to the Totality?

...to gain or lose an hour is meaningless.

Be happy!

What do I look like, a tarot card reading gypsy? OK, so I dusted off my old deck of tarot cards and then one jumping out at me, was meant for you:
