if they layed their lives down for an actual cause it does. but if they lay their lives down and it turns out to be for a trick, that makes me feel sad. my friend layed his life down and knew it was for a trick. only he didnt do it on purpose, the military made him do it.

alot of our bases over seas like germany for instance are there for fast deployment overseas . it takes hours off of the travel time if soldiers are clled on to go to war .

the fact that they are getting shot at i on a daily basis , makes them heroes .

and you know the sad thing is t2 as a former soldier if i were called back to active duty i would lay my life down also for your right to criticize what they are doing . and i know many other soldiers feel the same way . i had bullets flying over my head in columbia to help keep drugs out of this country but people dont hear about that . i am sorry you feel that way but i would gladly go back in and lay down my life for all of you.

ok, so if i went outside everyday and got shot at by my neighbor would that make me a hero?

we will always need rapid deployment base's , though i wish it werent true , because we will always have people who hate us .

we will always have people calling for our help.

it's ok rose . he's ignorant to the fact of what being a soldier means . and what we feel is our duty . he has the right to feel how he feels does not make him right . maybe one of these days the soldiers wont be there and he will have to take up arms to defend this country against a foriegn agresser in his own back yard . because thats why we fight wars in other countrys to keep it from coming here . i hope that day never comes

and you are a good man for the intention. but it would be a futile mission. how does it make you feel to know that while your sitting down there at the border shooting people and getting shot at, your government is slipping so much more than what you are seeing in through the back door. they pay you guys to do that so that it looks like the government is at least doing something about the drugs coming in. meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of pounds of cocaine are being shipped into the country with the full blessing of the government.

my son wanted to join the army but couldn't because of medical reasons. he wants to become a cop instead because he wants to protect the innocent and get rid of the bad guys.

I get what you are saying. Maybe if we didn't meddle in other countries business, and let them fight their own battles, we wouldn't need the bases. They wouldn't have a reason to dislike us.

they would dislike us for not "meddling" or defending them. it's a no win situation
