Most people have FWB for sex reasons only. It's easy (for both parties) when you aren't in a relationship just to keep from going sexually insane. ie .. a 'booty call' WITH a friend to keep from using Bob?

No matter what I'm personally not able to do it. Sex belongs in a relationship for me.

I have never done the FWB thing at all, it scares me. I tend to find out from my friends that someone almost always gets hurt even when the rules are laid out from the beginning.
Let me give you an example: My friend had a FWB and they were doing this for about 5 long years. One day he called her up and said that he was engaged!! Now how can he be engaged when the deal was IF they started seeing someone else seriously or sleeping with someone else...their FWB would end. Of course my friend was totally ticked off, I couldn't blame her!!
He would use the "L" word with her during sex and she would just let it go because she thought it was just said because the heat of the moment type of thing. The bad thing was, she was already having feelings for this guy but never said anything.
So I honestly think that FWB is not a good thing to get involved in..someone always gets hurts!!!

It's funny because I do not think I've ever been so, bare before. So I obviously care.

A realization through a thread, it happens. yes you obviously care. I think it is hard not to care for another human being even in an FWB. Just be sure its not caring for the wrong reasons.

Right now, it's self protection I think. I put myself out there before and got hurt. I treat him, except for the sex, the same as I do all my other friends, and maybe even less giving so as not to present any conflicting or non friend intentions.

Take a look around the room, dear. We have all put ourselves out there and been hurt. What is your risk and what is your reward??? Is it worth placing myself out there again?? If I don't, I do not reap the benefits nor do I get hurt. If I do, it could possibly be the best thing that ever happened to me or it could be the worst of them all. Decisions, decisions, hmmmm? What is it about my past that pushes the decisions I make?? How do I change my stars?? All valid questions and all unanswerable by anyone, but the individual.
