I was never opposed to welfare etc,for those that actually need it.

No, because it's still the regular working stiff that gets the shaft either way!!

My mom was a welfare caseworker for almost 35 years.
I loathe the welfare system, how it is. I think we should have welfare, medicade, foodstamps. Absolutly. But the system is set up for people to stay on it, and depend on it. Many times I have seen people quit jobs because they lose to much once they start making their own income. And many people's state of mind is to be on welfare. Their parents were on it. They get on it. Their kids get on it. It's a way of life. It's supposed to just be a stepping stone to help people in need. |

I have a tough time making ends meet but I make to much money for any assitance.
However, I can CHOOSE to quit my job. Then I get free food, cash, utilities paid, free rent, free medical. I wouldn't have to pay my daughter's school lunches anymore. Registration fees are gone. I get grants for college. On and on and on. But because I choose to keep a job and support myself and my child, I get no help what so ever. I pay my taxes. I pay for people to stay at home and not get jobs. So it pisses me off when I need help, I can't get any. |

They have to be working or going to school to stay eligible for it. |

I personaly dont want to rent to those people. You cannot count on the state to pay them. And if you have to get rid of them. Your stuck with a pile of junk. Their stuff is my junk.

All that money is going to ALL the wrong people! AND it should help people that don't have children. As it is right now you can't get assistance unless you have a child or completly disabled. I have seen SOOO many women have kids just so they can get state aid. It makes me sick. It would be far cheaper to keep a woman on birthcontrol and help her thru school instead of paying all her medical bills from being pregnant. Then paying for the children. |

AND I get ticked when I'm in a gas station behind someone that's buying 20 bucks worth of crap food and pop with MY tax dollars. Yea, that just makes me wanna trip them on their way out the door.
