Not all the people on welfare are bums and will trash houses.
This is what happens they are just going along picking up used free furniture when they find it. State wants them on work first. Its a program they have to do. Teach them to fill out apps. and make them look for work. If they dont do that they get cut off. Maybe not all of them. Maybe not all of them, Just everyone I had.

Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the Hit Parade. Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days! Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight Gee, our old LaSalle (a car) ran great. Those were the days! And you knew where you were then! Girls were girls and men were men. Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. People seemed to be content. Fifty dollars paid the rent. Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days! Take a little Sunday spin, go to watch the Dodgers win. Have yourself a dandy day that cost you under a fin (five dollar bill). Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song. I don't know just what went wrong! Those Were the Days!"

'correct' answer? does that mean they agreed with you?
well pats is sayin the middle class pay for the poor and the rich.and samurai jack is right cause it does go to the wrong people in line at a grocery store where you are standing in line waitng for a abuser to pay with food stamps or that card and talking on their cell phone, then get in their $40,000 suv and go.i look at that and say...WTF

They could have bought that SUV when they were working and they are now unemployed. Cell phones can be the cheap ones - pay as you go or a family plan. Just something to think about.
the ifs are always there but when you see it continously its like led zeppelin "and it makes me wonder"

All that money is going to ALL the wrong people!
No, not all of it. There are many people that need it and wouldn't be able to survive without it. It's the ones that just refuse to support themselves that pisses me off. And that it goes totally off your income. Not your income compared to your bills. It should help more people that have to choose whether or not to buy their medicine or food.
AND it should help people that don't have children. As it is right now you can't get assistance unless you have a child or completly disabled.
I have seen SOOO many women have kids just so they can get state aid. It makes me sick. It would be far cheaper to keep a woman on birthcontrol and help her thru school instead of paying all her medical bills from being pregnant. Then paying for the children.
yeah I see it all the time women keep spittingh out kids so they can saty on welfare.. But supposedly the federal gov set guidelines and that here in Ohio you have to work 30 hours a week to get assistance ..UNLESS you have a child under 5.. there is the loop hole. I have a neighbor who is fully capable of working ( male 50) and he milks every system and benefit he can from the state / county agencies... losers all.

Some of those disabled are not disabled at all. And some disabled are working. Whats with that.

Many times you cannot see a person's disability. There are people with heart problems and kidney problems and more. My father looks normal but he has severe COPD and can't walk far. He doesn't receive disability though because he's retired.

People on disability are severely looked over before they can receive it. You have to see the Soc. Sec. docs. and give them all of your medical records. At the end, they may even go in front of the judge.

there are the few that use WIC and welfare to get on there feet and then quit it,but there are alot who live off of it and find ways to continue to manipulate the system cause they decided to have another bastard child....just sayin
WIC doesn't really bother me. It's very limited and specific on what it pays for. You can only buy certain products for you and your baby and then it cuts you off I think after the first year or 2.

It cuts off at age 5. My mom's company took care of that here.

There's no way on earth that someone can buy a SUV with the measly money that they receive on welfare.
