I have one and I have to get it renewed next year. The stamps are The Bahamas, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Mexico & Canada.

I still want to go to Europe.

happy

My passport is expired and I'm reapplying for a new one. It's always nice to be able to go anywhere at anytime. I've been to almost all the states,Italy,Canada,Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Beach! Nice to see you again.

That's my problem. There are many places I'd love to go, just can't afford it at the moment. Eventually, though

Same here. I would LOVE to see Europe but alas, that’s an expensive trip and I don’t want to go into debt over it. Aside from that I have been down to Mexico which was very nice. I traveled to Zihuatanejo which was wonderful because there were no Americans. When I travel, I want to avoid Americans as much as possible and experience the actual culture of the people I am visiting.

Try Arkansas

I want to go to Australia... but I don't see it happening for a while.

That would be a good trip also. I want to see Italy and Greece and Spain just because those countries have such a rich history.

Italy was a lot of fun. I went there when I was in the Navy. Lots of good winedrinker and history. I was at the base at Sigonella. I went into Catania many times. It's a big city with lots of history..

Yeah, I'd like to go to those places, too. As well as England, Ireland and Scotland. I just want to spend time travelling, really.

There's a small possibility I might be going to India for work.

India is a big outsource region. I can’t even understand the telemarketers when they call.

Last time I got a call like that, it was a guy with a thick Indian accent telling me his name was John Smith.

But if you want to know how other peoples live and think, it's nice to go there.

I agree. I guess some people don't give a damn about knowing though. Some people are very ignorant.

Someone said to me once(cant remember who though) "Scotland..Is that in London"

Whoever it was that said it, could do with going travelling for a while.

I have never had a passport or the reason to get one.

Getting a passport has nothing to do with one being ignorant or not giving a damn.

It has to do with having the funds to actually go out of the country. Myself I have not had the extra money to have the pleasure of traveling.

Being a single mom and raising two kids at times don't always leave one with the time or money to travel.

As far as learning about other countries one does not have to go there to learn.

Would I travel to other places if I could? Hell ya would love to but just have not had the opportunity to do so.

Since everyone is complaining about lack of funds to travel abroad, I thought I would point out this guy’s site. I’ve looked at it before and he has some EXCELLENT tips for saving money while traveling in Europe. I still can’t afford it but if you are already planning a trip, this guy is great.

I got 2 of them, I'm a double citizen.
One of my friends who was born in USA got his Irish passport just recently, since Ireland and Germany allows you to have one if you can show a proof of ancestry down to I don't know how far back.

I never said all people without a passport are ignorant. I understand that many people just cant afford to travel.

But still, some people are very ignorant. If you ask some Americans(as an example, not to pick on you yanks!) where some states are even, they cannot answer. I have come across this a lot.

Of course you can get information on other countries from various medias, but you can only learn so much that way. Nothing beats seeing a country and meeting the people yourself. But then most people have financial limits one way or another, i have been to a few places, but there are many many more that i haven't.

This is absolutely the truth. I am an American and I am not offended by this comment in the slightest. I consider myself a fairly intelligent human being (college graduate) but I am well aware that many Americans are somewhat ignorant of geography and civics in particular. Case in point. The other day on a thread, a younger male rattled off the first few lines of The Declaration of Independence and quoted it as being taken from the Constitution! I almost fell off my chair. The Declaration of Independence is a historical document and Americans should be well aware of the difference in these two manuscripts. Sigh. noway
