Good man that Obama..

Bush would have covered up the whole mess.
We'd probably never even heard about it!

Thank goodness Daschle is gone. Obama must have had a brain fart to have nominated him anyway. Mr President Obama don't let others tell you who to pick from now on. Remember, you weren't suppose to owe anyone any favors. Remember your campaign promises on lobbying and truthfulness.

i'm glad he's gone, and felt ONLY disgust at his tearing up when announcing his withdrawal.

puh-leeze......will the ploys for cheap sympathy never end from politicians who manipulate the public from day one of their career?

i'll give obama a pass.

he wanted this man, either for balance, skills or to satisfy required political interests.

he tried, he failed.

at least he manned up and demanded the withdrawal....unlike bush II, who would have sweptt this under the carpet and brought him right in there w/the rest of his many ethics-challenged people.

This is great stuff. Just like Clinton and his Attorney General nominees love of Illegal Alien housekeepers.

HAHAHA... "We are going to bring back ethics to Washington".

It is sad when I have to admit that Hillary Clinton is the most "ethical" of the Cabinet Secretaries.

I hope the HMS Titanic, Obama is Captaining, has enough life rafts for all the Hope.. Change.. Change.. Hope..

I don't know one person in my circle that voted for Obama, who thinks one man can bring back ethics to washington. They can try and I would give them credit for trying, but no one person can be aware of so many in washington at one time. Bush made similar promises and we see what happened there.

The ship was already sinking and, I think, beyond repair when he took command, dumbass.

It will take a miracle (a series of them) to pull us out of the mess that Emporer Bush got us into. Maybe Obama can't fix it but I'll give him credit for taking on a sinking ship in a storm and not rely on Rush to tell me what to think.

He IS the president elected by the people so I'm going to be supporting him in spite of his liberal ideals. Maybe some of you rabid Republicans (who are the blame for this entire mess to begin with) could try that.

Bush's first mistake was in running with Cheney. Am I the only one that knows where he came from and his relationship(s) with Donald Rumsfield and his Chairmanship of KBR...you know..the guys that got the multi-hundred billion dollar no-bid contracts to be our new military support system in Iraq?

Bush was a liar and in the system from the start. Perhaps Obama will end up there but for now, I think he's giving a genuine try at fixing it. Nobody will change the corruption in Washington until we start convicting (and hopefully executing) the crooks. Honesty starts with one person...yourself. I think Obamas got a good lead on the other choices.

I believe that Obama gave him the kiss of Death when the day before he came out and said that he fully backed him...
