Do what I do and just don't give a damn...makes this site a hell of a lot funner and a lot less stressful.

Been on a few dates from this site, so you can get dates...however as experience as my teacher, these dates also come with expectations...don't meet them and you are cut out, meet them and you are cut out. Lose/lose regardless of how hard you try to make it work, so I gave up.

LMAO .. welcome to the world of dating .. R/L as well as o/l.

If none of us remembers back .. dating SUX. Some things never change laugh

Yes. Don't ever expect to make friends or socialize here, because that's not what this site is for. It's strictly for dating, nothing else. It's a regular Dating Store.

Keith you da best baby

Oh ya and be sure to post on my thread:

TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT ...
http://mingle2.com/topic/show/200145

it's all about what you REALLY want on here.

Bottom line to the OP. I have always been decent, like Moondark, to answer email. UNTIL .. I met up with a few sore losers.

Just because I date younger, and they weren't .. younger that is, they got their boxers in a bunch and started writing nasty emails back to my kind 'thanks but no thanks' ..

Nice way to treat me after I was nice enough to respond eh? So I've gotten a bit more jaded in that area. No need to be cursed at or insulted just because I prefer a certaim age group.

Geesh.

It's part of the dance. If she was interested she would have responded. She's not.

I do remember one, though, where I sent an incredibly funny and charming email (hush, it was independently verified 'funny') and I got 'crickets'. Nothing. And I was just disappointed because it really was funny and felt it would at least get me a "You're a moron. I've already filed for a restraining order" response.

Effort does not necessarily equal results when it comes to internet dating. Or any other form of dating now that I'm thinking about it. Either continue and hope for the best or change your approach to minimize the time you take for a first contact e-mail. In any case, it's best not to get upset about it since it will not help.

much better advice than etrain had to say. but none the less ineffective. simplifying the messages is boring.

I think you missed the major point. It was not about whether or not you change your approach. It's about not getting upset when you do not receive a response. It happens all the time. You need to be able to brush it off and move on.

The thing I hate most about dating online is: I put some effort into my initial contact emails and get nothing. I mean you sit

Put as much effort into your emails and posts as you want to, but expect nothing, and by nothing that they wont even be read. If you can approach it from that perspective, you'll be pleasantly surprised by any response. It works for me.

I think everyone is missing my point not that I'm not mad about not getting a response. I just think that women in general expect to be wooed by the initial contact. I think that expectation is ridiculous if all they are going to do is read it. we should just be able to say "Hi I'd like to talk to you." but no that's boring and shows no effort or imagination. if I put that and no response ok so what. but I actually put effort into it. I'm not upset about being rejected by some random person on the internet... I'm upset about the unappreciated effort.

Nope. Way to boring. I just don't like the Russian authors. Ayn Rand would be a little more interesting. Yes, I know she was Russian. But I don't she is usually grouped with the russian writers. She is much more interesting to read.

Expectations are 75% of dating, I have a goal to eliminate expectations by defying each and every one of them...hence I'm single, hence I'm happy.smokin
