Humankind in general.... the entire westernised societies...

I was born and raised in a western socieity, and I'm in totally agreement.

Western philosophy and western religion is utterly insane.

That's the best description for it.

Utter insanity. flowerforyou

Mainly because everything's driven by competition instead of by cooperation.

This is the mindset. We even compete against nature rather than attempting to cooperate with nature.

We have become so lost in this competitive mindset that we can't even see it anymore. We take it for granted.

A good example is that modern products are not designed for the consumer (for the society). But instead they are designed with the longevity of the company in mind.

Consumers are made to become increasingly dependent on manufacturers and suppliers.

It's all about what drives the enconomy, not about what's good for the inhabitants of the soceity.

The western world has truly made mammon their God by making themselves dependent upon it.

We live for mammon, not because we want to, but because we have designed a social environment that requires it.

In fact, if our enconmy fails (like it's currently doing) this has a profound affect on our society.

That wouldn't be true if we were a cooperation-based society that had always lived in harmony with nature.

And I'm not talking about living in grass huts either.

We can have high technology without being competitive about. There is nothing about intelligence that requires competition.

This isn't something that can be easily change in today's world, because we evolved into it over quite a few centuries.

But then again I'm not suggesting that we change it. I'm just point out the fact that it's insane.

Even our educational systems are based on competition. Everything about our western world is based on competition.

Some people will argue that this is nature's way. But that flies in the face that Human's were supposed to have risen above this.

Clearly we haven't.

There are several significant things the "Takers" do that are never done in the rest of the community of life. These are all fundamental to the Takers' civilization system. First, they eliminate their competitors, which is something that never happens in the wild. In the wild, animals will defend their territories and their kills and they may invade their competitor's territories and preempt their kills, but they never hunt competitors down just to destroy them, the way some ranchers and farmers do with coyotes and foxes. Generally, in the wild when animals hunt, they eat. When animals go hunting, it is to obtain food, not to exterminate competitors or even animals that prey on them. Second, the Takers systematically destroy their competitors' food to make room for their own. This does not occur in the natural community, where the rule is take what you need and leave the rest alone. Third, the Takers deny their competitors' access to food. In contrast, in the wild you may deny your competitors' access to what you are eating, but you may not deny them access to food in general. The lion may say, "This gazelle is mine," but he doesn't say, "All the gazelles are mine."huh

This is the problem.

actually i thought that was the definition of stupidity..

The topic of western culture being insane is very insightful and i agree. but not my definition of insanity.

insanity is the irrational thinkng (or lack of)that follow with one's actions and the effects are damaging or at the least unproductive of both parties..
my best example are drama addicts. going around starting bull.. uhhh bla
