So true.LOL. I know that you have to be careful, but truly I have had no such luck. I will talk to some and they never ask or I ask if they would like to meet just for conversation and they never respond back . Confused.

gee if one picks up someone in say HEB , where do you , hit on them , frozen food , veggies , chips and drinks . maybe in the spice's. or if you meet in a tarvern do you wait till the drinks kick in to get the nerve? its not like school any more , you cant ask your buds who that fine looking person is, and even on here some , look and will not even give you the time of day, but you can chat , get to know them, in the chats in time you can find if there true or not, knowing then if you both go for that walk on the beach together under the twinkling of the stars.
when in this busy day to day live stile can you find the time. it takes less time to answer a response. then to get dressed up to hit the town

As far as meeting someone for coffee and a drink. I myself never look at first meets as anything but putting a face to the person I have been chatting with. I think that is where I decide it there is going to be a date or not.

well if i lived near kentucky i might lurk around the local starbucks trying to catch your attention! But on the serious side i have three kids and a job with a commute. I was married 16 years and have went out on two dates in the last year and both where train wrecks. The only thing i want is to find someone i like first and ill worry about the rest later. I just want a woman that is funny and i have a lot in common with. Yes attraction is a must but im tired of all physical with no substance. Thats just where i am in life and oh yeah did i mention i have three kids. She would have to be the type to love kids and thats a must. So i guess im saying i want to know the person before i go and start getting whipped cause i got this whipped syndrome thing. lol....

Why dont you add a few more lines to your Intro saying you would like to meet someone who could live with a Cup of Coffee and some Conversation. You might then get lucky. If you lived in SoCal, Id do it.

Dunno I can only answer from a guys perspective. If I chatted up with someone a few times and it seems to be agreeably friendly and SHE asked me to meet for some talk and coffee I would do it. Some guys might respect that and some not. I can take or leave ""Moving"" on someone at the first meeting. I guess others might have a more difficult time of it.
