well knives kill people too, but im not gonna start cutting everything with a spoon. really never understood why people are against guns? its not like you are gonna ever take them away from the criminals. there are more guns in this country then human beings so its a little late dont you think?

I think it would depend on the maturity and responsibility of the kid we're talking about. I know plenty of "adults" that I wouldn't trust with potato peeler, let alone a gun. I don't think there is a qualifying age that makes it OK to give a kid a gun unless you just want to make sure he/she is tried as an adult when they do something stupid.

If a crazy person walks into a class room with a knife the people can run and the people can overpower the crazy person. If a crazy person walks into the room with the machine gun then the crazy person can kill so many people quickly and efficiently. I understand hunting rifles and my dad taught me to use a hunting rifle. I can not understand handguns and machine guns for regular people. Handguns and machine guns are not for hunting only are for killing people. People can protect their homes with rifles and I do not think people need machine guns for protecting. |

We do have a ban on Assault Weapons here. Well sort of. Im not sure if its lapsed. It was kind of a Clinton era thing. |

I can't imagine a kid having a need for an AK-47
update: the kid got his gun. He is 7. He shot the first beer bottle he aimed at. The kid's a natural |

I can't imagine a kid having a need for an AK-47 update: the kid got his gun. He is 7. He shot the first beer bottle he aimed at. The kid's a natural I dont see any problem with it as long as he is always supervised of course and he CANT get to it when you arent around. Im sure will teach him all of the proper safety precautions and just make sure he understand that its not a joke or a toy. |

i would laugh if his son started using his dads full bottles for target practice.
but unfortunately and of course, he would never get his hands on the gun without his dad being there |

i had an air rifle at an early "ish" age i was roughly 12 years old
my dad gave me a weapon handling test if you like on it and showed me the dangers of it as well. but by that age i knew what was what . but that was only out the back garden he never let me venture off. i wouldn't have shot anything anyway, specially not a helpless animal. but put an iraqi infront of my barrel or an Iranian for that fact i wouldnt hesitate. both of course being terrorist of some sort |
