ok jag, i was wrong embarassed .

turns out i didn't blow it at all.
he started talking to me one night and said he missed me and asked if i was the one avoiding him (huh) . anyhoo, he later asked me out to have lunch with him sometime (i asked him, "you mean like a date?" and he said yea that's what he was hoping for) at which point he told me he had to go and he'll give me some time to think about it.

i later told him i'd rather not date anyone right now and even if i did it wouldn't work because we would have little in common because of the age gap.

all my friends are absolutely against me associating with this guy for various reasons that i choose to pretty much disregard stubbornly bigsmile . they fear i will end up dating him and they are strongly against that in particular.

hopefully he and i will get on with being just friends now

Hi JAG - just reporting in after the interview with the long time coworker/friend. It was fine and comfortable...I was able to just be myself and that worked (although whether or not I get the job is still a mystery :) Funny though...we both showed up in black slacks, white shirt and red jacket/sweater...looked like we'd called each other like Jr. High girls! LOL! Also - we both mentioned that we hadn't had our happy hour together (when I'm in town working) for many months but that probably it was better that way...we'd both thought about tonight and figured it wouldn't look right - she went so far as to say it would be just her luck for another candidate to walk in and see us. Crazy. Anyway, it went well but we'll see...thanks for the pep talk and advice last week.

Anytime. :-)

JAG...can you give me some motivation to wake up at 5am for exercise tomorrow???

Ummm....no. LOL

That just sounds silly to me. LMAO

JAG, what does that guy, think of me?what

I think it depends on what you have told " that " guy. :-)

If he has a lick of sense, then he thinks you are a beautiful intelligent woman that has a good head on her shoulders. He also thinks that you could be one of the best things that ever happened to him.

If he has any sense.

If this is the same guy that explained to you why guys think of sex when they talk to you, then I would think you made the correct move in not dating him at this point.

Ugh......I'm sick. And feeling guilty for not working. Apparently somebody else is out today and now the co-workers seem a bit angry or frustrated at me. Why is it when you are sick you can't just be sick and not feel guilty? I haven't ate hardly anything in 3 days and my house is piled high with dishes and "stuff" that nobody else seems to know how to take care of, isn't that bad enough? Arghhhhhhhhh! So frustrating!
Some days I don't like being an adult. Why can't they just let me run back and forth to the bathroom and leave me alone!

I don't feel the slightest bit guilty when I have to call in.

Hope you get feeling better soon, hon.

MY TURN! MY TURN TO WHINE! I absolutely can not stand the person who is going to be my new boss in about 20 days...OMG I sure hope one of these interviews gets me out of that mess. This guy is TROUBLE for me both personally and professionally...arrrrrgh! I have never had such an aversion to any person before...this is sooooo bad! Okay, now I feel better and can end this late lunch journey to M2 and go back to work!)

(((((Heather))))) I hope you feel better soon. People only get really upset about someone missing work if they are important.

Have you ever had a long-lasting friendship/relationship that defied logic?

Thank you so much. I dunno...these days I'm not feeling very important. I think it's time for some much needed changes all the way around my life. I've kind of lost some focus in some areas. I found love and it is great, but it's time to get the rest in order too. I'm home today although feeling much better, and I think I might do some soul and job searching. This too shall pass is what I always say and I'm looking hard to see the "pass".
Hugs to the littleredhen!

Yes, thank you. I sure hope your job thing gets better. Nothing worse at work than knowing you have to work for someone you can't respect.
Big hugs to you as well!

YES! My best friend and I are really opposites in so many ways, yet for some reason we remain friends. I have pondered this many many times.

Sounds like you are doing some soul searching along the same lines I've been on...guess that makes us "soul-searching sista's" or something like that. Spent about 90 minutes on a mountain over the weekend just THINKING and wow...that helped the clarity! I actually WAS looking down at a 'pass' too. Funny coincidence!

I'm meeting a man for dinner that I've known since 6th grade. I moved away after 9th grade and we've fallen in/out of touch for 30+ years. Never were romantically involved and he's a confirmed bachelor but we manage to have a meal or a short visit when our paths cross about once every 2-5 years and we email regularly (technology is great!) It makes no sense but we both really value this friendship.

It was really nice, thanks! I had about 1.5 hour drive after dropping him back off at his hotel and got home waaaaaay to late! I'll muddle through today and get sleep tonight - you just can't miss opportunities like that, in life!

Hope everyone else's Friday is golden!
