Why "righty tighty" and "lefty loosey" instead of the other way around... couldn't things have been manufactured the other way? Actually....they have manufactured " left handed " bolts. They are mainly used on parts where the spin of the part would cause a regular bolt to loosen itself. Having a bolt that tightens the opposite way uses the part's centrifugal force to keep the bolt tightened down. :-) |

...and speaking of left and right... since we are past the days of maids and valets, why do men's and women's clothing have plackets on opposite sides when buttoning? Does clothing ever evolve? That one is beyond me. I may have to call Daydreamer for assistance...lol |

One more... My friend is left handed and when she says "turn right" she is generally gesturing with her left hand and "right" means PRIMARY to her. My question...is it weird that I can follow her directions even without looking to see which way she is pointing??? (Or is that just a sign of a good friend?) That is the sign of a good friend whom you are able to communicate with. |

Are the brightest stars closer to earth or just bigger and/or more "fire-y" than others? The North Star isn't the closest star. It's just bigger and brighter than a lot of others. |

|
Why are super clear nights most common in the fall and winter? I think it has something to do with a lack of moisture in the air. The lower moisture levels lead to fewer clouds and less water vapor to block out the light from the stars. |

What do you call those strips of torn paper that get stuck in the wire spiral of a notebook? A pain in the ass. |

How DOES the Post Office use electronic readers to process mail when handwriting is so varied??? By the time the mail gets to the readers, it's already been stamped at the location it was dropped off. The readers are reading the stamping...not the writing. |
