That's something everyone should know in her/his own heart.
I do not need a God to tell me.

If you mean personal right from wrong, it's usually the heart or conscience that mandates. There are tons of "law" rights and wrongs which are mandated by society.
Unfortunately, there are humans born amorally who cannot tell right from wrong unless and until taught by those who can share their conscience. Then, it is their choice to adopt those standards, but they will still not inherently know or understand, and there will always be something new to challenge them.

if it's something in his her own heart what if whoever thought it was right to kill, steal, rape, and murder.

Mores (pronounced /ˈmɔːreɪz/) are norms or customs. Mores derive from the established practices of a society rather than its written laws. They consist of shared understandings about the kinds of behaviour likely to evoke approval, disapproval, toleration or sanction, within particular contexts.

"Mores" are distinguished from folkways by the severity of response they invoke. While breaking a folkway is likely to turn heads of passersby, breaking a more will offend observers and possibly bring punishment. This is because mores express fundamental values of society while folkways are more nuanced customs of behavior. Taboos, for example, are the most extreme form of mores as they forbid a society's most outrageous practices, such as incest and murder. A milder example is the differences in reactions to a man and woman walking down the street topless. While the man might receive mild disapproval a woman would receive harsh sanctions for the same act.

The English word morality comes from the same root, as does the noun moral, which can mean the 'core meaning of a story'. However, mores does not, as is commonly supposed, necessarily carry connotations of morality. Rather, morality can be seen as a subset of mores, held to be of central importance in view of their content, and often formalized in some kind of moral code, e.g. commandments.

The question of how members of a society come to internalise its mores is thus of central importance to the wider question of how socialisation occurs. Most sociologists reject the thesis that formal instruction matters as much as informal social responses, for example, disgust and the ostracism of offenders. However, constant exposure to social mores is thought by some to lead to development of an individual moral core, which is pre-rational and consists of a set of inhibitions that cannot be easily characterized except as potential inhibitions against taking opportunities that the family or society does not consider desirable. These in turn cannot be easily separated from individual opinions or fears of getting caught.

Tocqueville claimed that democracy in America influenced mores properly, from a European perspective; mores became milder as conditions equalized.

Folkways are the patterns of conventional behavior in a society, norms that apply to everyday matters. They are the conventions and habits learned from childhood.

Famed American sociologist, William Graham Sumner, is credited with coining the term folkways in his monumental work entitled Folkways: A Study of the Sociological Importance of Manners, Customs, Mores, and Morals in 1907.[1]

Folkways are one of three types of norms, the others being mores and taboos. Mores are much more strictly enforced than folkways. Generally, conformity to folkways is ensured by gentle social pressure and imitation. Breaking or questioning a folkway does not cause severe punishment, but may cause the person to be laughed at, frowned upon, or scolded. Some examples of folkways in western culture include respecting the privacy of strangers and eating food with the proper utensil.

Hmmm. Good question. It caused me to learn a new word. I had never heard of folkways before.

Or perhaps it makes it right when God tells him/her so?

What makes them HOLY? so many books didn't make it into the bible, are they less HOLY?

thought these were the words of those in Jesus Christ company - for they all have their own books - hence people off the street not literary geniuses.

*since you follow a book written by man are you implying anything you do is right?* really curious in your response.

And then of course everyone who kills, and then says:"God told me so", is right, too.
Am I getting that right?

And what about all those "Holy" men who were molesting those boys?

And, as I have already proven, for every part of the bible that tells us to be good, there is a part written that isn't in line with the morality we know today.
So, either you take only the good, and leave the bad, which makes you a hypocrite, or you accept everything in the bible as good, which makes you a liar.
