Are there people who are still willing to fall in love before they have sex or is sex early on just too much the norm anymore?

I used to wait to have sex purely on a moral standing, but now I wait until I really have a solid, loving relationship with someone before sex simply because without love, sex is empty and hollow. It only achieves it's full beauty when both partners are committed and in love.

Sex is felt on the outside, Love is felt on the inside. I want to feel that inside before I feel that outside. I want the whole picture and not just the frame the picture came in!

I think that women especially will tend to get their emotions mixed up with sex. Its just not easy finding a guy who is willing to wait a bit.

I have been divorced for 23 months...and...have gone without for 26 months...gulp !!...for me...sex and relationships complicate things...and no...I haven't forgotten how !...LOL... .... ...

It's nice to see some men understand that dual connection and know how much better sexuality can be when it's with someone you enjoy for themselves. Okay, phone numbers, PLEASE!!!!

I think people should have sex when they're comfortable having sex, whether it's in the first 5 minutes or after 5 years, or whatever. I rarely wait long to have sex, long enough that I'm reasonably sure it's not just a one night stand. But if I'm comfortable, then why not?

I think sex too early definitely complicates things. Men and women are just too different in their abilities to separate sex and love.

Ruth, I used to be bad when I got my divorce. I was like a kid in a candy store and the last thing I wanted for a few years was a relationship, but bring on the men!! But, I want one now, and I have found an opposite situation with certain frequency. It seems some fellows think that IF we have sex, we therefore have a relationship when we really haven't gotten to know each other properly. I wonder if at our age, people are in a hurry to get their mate being that time is running out. Just when we all think we have the formulas and stereotypes down pat, someone proves us incorrect!!

I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't or shouldn't have sex anytime you want. It has been my experience that there are not many guys left who are willing to wait or agree that there should be an emotional bond first and this is disheartening to me personally.

Isn't that the truth. There is no easy formula to follow.
