the more I think about the question posted..and the responses given..I would have to say No..the reason being..my first true love, I wasn't attracted to her at all, in fact I was upset that I had to train her for the job she was just hired on for. years later I realized how beautiful she was and it had nothing to do with appearance, although she was incredibly beautiful. It was the little things about her that to this day I am still in love with. which has made it difficult to find someone who has those same qualities and the essence that made her ...special.
25 years later and I'm still hoping to find her. or someone who is like her. doubt I'll ever capture the magic that I once had.

I think I agree. Men tend to be more susceptible to physical attraction, while women care more about eh bank account. That's why you typically see more female babes with old men than hot guys with old ladies. There's always the exceptions to that, though.

I think it is all subjective for both men and women. I myself look how a woman carries herself. Is she confident, does she have sense of humor etc. I am sure this has been all said before but it's just my two cents.

Its true that it is not as culturally acceptable in the United States for an older woman to court a younger man but in Europe it is so common place that no one bats an eye. Its is becoming more socially tolerable in the states now.

Well the point is that the question is so general that there is no room for specific instance.

Sure, some guys are 100% about looks. No doubts there.

Some guys are 88%, some guys are 43% and some are born deaf, dumb and blind.

If I had to rate myself, I'd say looks are about 40% of the equation, and that's being as honest as I can possibly be.

I haven't read all of the replies, but women can be the same way as well. There are some who will only date super hot guys. Some men do the same. Other people will go more for personality. Though, in any case, there has to be some sort of attraction there.

I'm actually pretty lucky in that my personality and intelligence are far more interesting than my looks. I consider myself to be kind of mediocre in the looks department, but I have silver tongue when the occasion strikes me to use it.

Also, I'm lucky that those are qualities which mature with time instead of fading.
