I keep seeing people getting bashed for their inability's to use proper grammar/spelling.
Why point out someones flaws like its such a bad thing?
One person's weakness is another persons strength, for what you lack in one department you make up for in another.

I agree with you. Unless its one big long paragraph that has no punctuation at all or in all caps then its no big deal.

I second that. I have some of the worst spelling and grammer. I spend another 5 min spell checking my post before posting it just so I don't have to get crap about that. I tell you what though, I don't give other people sh** about not keeping up with me in other areas.

Grammer, I am so so, spelling however I do try my best.
Because the format of communication is written, an individual comes across as ignorant, uneducated, or worse, if there is continued mispelled words. The corrections are meant as a help, so that the OP can correct themselves and make a better presentation online.
When I used a Fire Fox browser, my mispelled words were underlined automatically, so I knew right away. Now that I am back to IE browser I don't have that option.
BTW, I only comment about it jokingly if it is glaring and obvious, making it difficult to read or understand what the person is trying to say.

I understand what you are saying Jimmy, we all make spelling mistakes and all that. What saddens me is the sheer volume of young people who can't spell or get a sentence out and have it readable. It shouldn't be happening. Education obviously has failed them.

I've got a friend in Florida whose ethnic background comes out in her typing. Because of this many people treat her as very ignorant. When in fact she is a very educated woman. Very smart and to visit with her in person or by phone you would never imagine she's the same person that appears on different forums.

One's typing abilities may not reflect the true nature of the individual.

I'm afraid you are right. I guess it's part of the reason I always try and look for the thought that is being conveyed in a comment rather than look for the errors and flaws. Goodness we make plenty of mistakes out here in the real world and get jumped on for them. We sure don't need it in this type of forum.
