I'm sorry, but I don't understand how a lot of "christians" think they have the right to degrade and judge others on the basis that they have GOD on their side.

You always have the choice of not giving a rats arse what opinions some people have.

Some Christians feel the need to try convince you what they believe is correct, but many religions do this. I find a stern 'shut the F*** up, i do not give a flying monkey's ballbag what you have to say' is enough to quieten most of them.

There isn't anyone in this world that is special enough to tell someone else they are wrong.

It's one main reasons I choose to be non-religious because people are such bigots.

As opposed to someone who only comes here to insult Christians who are not bothering you? Please don't give me your I'm Ms Goody,Goody, speech since I have seen you insult Christians many times on other posts.Maybe you should look in the mirror before you call people you haven't even met bigots.Maybe if you would show some tolerance and respect to Christians you would get some back.

By the way....Who specifically are we hating? What member or members are we attacking?Stop using Christianity as a cruch for your insults.I see plenty of members here saying much worse who are not Christians.

To me you make a perfect point, Christianity itself is not the problem its people who think they know the mind of god . . . .

The most egotistical thing you can claim to have as knowledge is that of gods will . . .

Yeah, "I know because god told me" is a tough enough one to swallow, nevermind "I know because I figured it out."

Ummm excuse me buddy, but I rarely post in this forum at all, but I did make this post because of YOU and a choice few others on this board. Do I need to refresh your memory and go copy and paste some of your insults and hate posts talking about homosexuals and atheists? Talk about tolerance!

I am not acting like anything, I am being MYSELF. Not sure if you know what that is like.

And maybe you also should look in the mirror dude, because you definatly don't practice what you spew!sick whoa

There are so many different religions out there - what makes someone think that THEIR religion is better than someone else's? I agree with you 100% HK. That is why I, like you, consider myself Agnostic. I don't think my ideas or beliefs are better than Joe Schmoe. It's just who I am. We are all different and need to accept each other for who they are and not try to make them into who you want them to be. If we were all the same, this world and life would be pretty boring. IMO

Now if you ask a question of me as a Christian and I answer it....and you don't like the answer...well then I would ask who is being judgemental.

Yabut, how is it judgemental to not like an answer? I don't like some answers in life, but that doesn't make me judgemental. Maybe confused, or perplexed by the answer, but not nessessarily judgemental.

Forgive me, I am beginning to nod out, so if I am not making sense feel free to ignore me.. lol

My dogs are special, can't get more special than that kind of unconditional love. Well you can try, but dogs are better at it in most cases. There just not very talkative, but then maybe if they were, things would change.. lol

I agree that people don't have to right to degrade and judge others.

Let me ask you this, by saying what you just said, aren't you saying they are wrong?

I'm still waiting for a answer on who I hate and who I am insulting.Yes it's true there is people I don't like and choose not to associate with but just because I don't like them that doesn't mean I hate them.I do not approve of gays and the lifestyle they live but does that mean I hate them?No it doesn't.If you just want us to turn a blind eye to what the bible says and just accept everyone and everything are we Christians anymore? Is that what God and Jesus did?Just let everyone do and say whatever they want and nod their head in approval because everyone should be treated the same? The bible has rules, morals, and standards.I understand some Christians could care less about them but thats not the case for me and alot of other people out there.

Before you accuse me of Judgment let me explain something to you. There is Judgment with out facts and Judgment with facts.God did not want us to judge blindly and with out facts. Some examples of justified judgment would be...not dating or marrying non Christians, not worshiping false Gods or idols, not hanging around bad people or troublemakers, not having sex with prostitutes, etc. How can you stay away from these people if you don't judge them?

A wrong example of judgment-That girl standing on the corner is probably a prostitute because she is in a bad neighborhood and it's late out.

That smelly man on the bus has to be a bum.

A right example of judgment-I do not want to be around that guy because I know he uses drugs.

I know that person and he is a troublemaker.I know he has stolen cars and other things.Stay away from him.

So the next time you accuse Christians of judgment you might want to think about if it is blind judgment or judgment with facts.

I'm still waiting for a answer on .............................

I'm not going to get in an argument about hate. I have a very hard time with the way you approach the subject in a snarky condescending way, Thomas. Could be why some associate that with hate even if it's not what you actually feel. We might be mistaking indifference for hate, though I sometimes wonder which is actually worse when it comes to this topic.

That fact that you assume you have the absolute facts maybe the most arrogant part of your whole argument. You assume fact via a book scholars can't even agree on. Then assume everyone must accept that as logic as well as absolute truth and proof that 'we' are wrong in wanting to live as freely as you do.

We just want to live our lives with the same dignity and benefits you take for granted every day of your life. Why not allow people with differing points of view and levels of open-mindedness to contribute, instead of dominating controversial topics with scripture and mean spirited remarks and jokes at minority expense as if the whole world is not already quite familiar with the stance the church has taken on this matter.

It's up to you to recognize any harm. I can't point it out to you because you can't relate to the harm it might do to me as someone condemned by your bible and reminded by you.

We all judge each other even when we don't always realize we are doing it. Maybe we can only measure the affects of the level of judgment we bring on each other at any given time. Your judgment you say is based on fact via the bible. We are simply asking for the right to be equal to you in caring for our loved ones as you might yours. But all too often we can't get beyond body parts as the focus.

It's very difficult to debate someone that has an immovable belief system, most gays don't go directly to Christians for support for good reason, so I am not sure why ya'll get into the mix unless it's just to be sure no other person rethinks their own judgments. We don't need to be reminded of the dominance of the church, Thomas, it's all around us. And we certainly don't need the added headache of being talked down to.

Which 'you' are you asking?

The 'I' that is my ego?

Or the 'I' that is quietly and consciously aware?

Or the 'I' that is the collective energy/consciousness?

Which 'you' are you referring to?

(Pssst!... Sometimes I suspect that identification with something (organised religion) is not always a good thing)

I have to admit I am baffled by this one, but then it won't be the first time..

I have often wondered though, what's organized about religion. I see it more as chaotic more often.

When we speak of ourselves, we say ' I am... (whatever, name, emotion, gender...) "

We identify the 'I' part of the statement as being us... who we are, all encompassing.

I disagree, and identify the 'I am..." part of me as ego... and NOT the authentic part of the who of me...

the 'I' discribes the what.... however that is not me....it is the who, that is me.

Hypocracy.......is a deadly and dangerous doctrine
in most organized religions today.

What I, as in Me, believes.....is important only to me.
It is not my place nor duty to force my beliefs on anyone.
I believe what I believe because it works for and makes sense to me.
While I believe I have a "responsibility to treat others with compassion and dignity, ultimately I am only responsible for "me".
Believe what works for you......
and I will aplaude you for your convictions.
