Got one now. Sitting in the dark. Monitor dimmed. Waiting for meds to kick in enough so I can sleep or something.

It's the pain is so bad it is triggering purging kind. I think I may want to die.

Why do these things hit in the wee hours of the morning? Anyone have any tricks to make them better. I've run out.

Yep smokin I have 4 bulging disks...3 in my neck which cause constant headaches...24/7....smokin is the ONLY thing I have found that eases it....so you may not want to go with my idea....lol

Only had one where I needed a trip to the ER. I took excedrine migraine, had a cup of Pike Street Market Tea (heavily spiced black tea of some type), some plain slices of bread to settle the tummy, just took some tylonal pm so I can hopefully get some sleep as soon as the excedrine kicks in enough.

A very warm to hot shower may help, computer screen may not be helping much. Probably need to limit that when you have the pain.

Been there, wish there was an easy fix.flowerforyou

Actually, I had a lot of water before bed and had been drinking it since I woke up. Once I started getting sick, all i had in me was water. But I had a feeling...... I much prefer having fluids in my tummy rather than ending up with the dry heaves. That just hurts so much more.

And because I dry out horribly in the winter. I'm trying to keep my skin really hydrated. I think I'm starting to notice a minor improvement.

I'm glad people mentioned the cold. I was beginning to think I was weird. I have friends who use heat instead. Which just makes me that much worse when I have a migraine.

My 15 year old daughter suffers from them very bad. We usually end up at the doctors office for a shot about 2-3 times a month. She takes all sorts of migraine medicine...but really the only thing that helps her is a dark, cold, quiet room with a fan blowing directly in her face. A bag of frozen peas over her eyes usually also helps. I used to get them as bad but as I get older they don't come as often.

Thank God I don't get them often. But you are doing what I do it sounds like. Dark, quiet, near the bathroom in case of vomiting. I like 2 or 3 Ibuprofens and I take sinus decongestants, too, since sometimes that triggers them. And, a bendryl or too will not only help you sleep, but if you had wine or cashews, anything with histamines, the benadryl counter-acts the histamines.

Feel better sooooooon!!!! They are such a waste and thief of energy, for sure!!!!!!!

I could offer you some assistance and suggestions in the way of medicinal herbs. I would need you to private message me however and I need to know a little more about the problem and what you are currently taking.

feel for you, been plagued by them damn things for years, Imitrex is all that helps mine but I get more headaches than what you can take of imitrex in a day at times.

Pain killers work, good luck getting a sympathetic doctor though

No light, No Noise, Cold Dark Room, Ice bag can help at the onset

nothing helps at the peak

My child used to get migraines. My mother had them most of her life.

My child's neurologist told me to stop giving them Tylenol.
Taking them too often can actually cause a rebound headache and make matters worse.

I am the only memeber of my family that does not get them but I know how dibilitating they can be. Imitrex is good but an everyday thing to knock the frequency down. Oxycodone and other pain killers work but hamper your day to day life. I have also heard that pure oxygen when you first start feeling an attack coming on knocks it out immediatly good luck to you

Feverfew is an herbal preventitive that really helped me.

Its cheap, easy to find and effective.
I started out buying the store brand(Safeway) and got relief. Take it daily to prevent migraines.

I used to get deady soul sucking migraines (turned out to be a medical condition)

but that "Head On" stuff actually worked. it puts a tingle in your forehead and temples that seems to lessen the migraine
