you know if you people were smart you would see that the puppy was photoshoped into the video. in fact the original video showed that same marine throwing a grenade. but people always draw conclusions on what they see at first, and are blinded by their dislike for the military. take a closer look at the puppy in the video. and try to find the original video. I've seen the original video before the puppy one came out.

I am not blinded by any dislike for the military. I have no dislike for them.

I am troubled by any person that is cruel to animals. They are scary creatures.

If such a video exists of him throwing a grenade, please show us where it is. I have seen the only the puppy video.

I find it interesting that you think it's photoshopped, yet the news people and the man's superiors don't see that.

And..yes, I'm smart enough.

yeah you've only seen the puppy one. maybe you should resaerch youtube? look up marine throwing a grenade. I'm on my phone and can't really do the research for you. but youtube might be a good place to start. since the video originated from youtube.

How do you know that the version with the hand grenade is not the one that is photoshopped?

I haven't watched the video and I don't plan to. Even if it isn't real I don't care to be a part of the "joke". If there is an original video why wasn't the guy able to prove it at his trial before his dismissal?

the way that the marine throws the "puppy" is the way you throw a grenade. this is how I know: I'm a marine.

The human brain makes associations that correspond to how much proximity to a critter we have in our daily interactions. These associations mark whether we feel empathy for a thing or not.

I imagine that our close kinship to dogs over the last 10-20 thousand years has had an impact on our associations with canines that we do not see with flies.

the way that the marine throws the "puppy" is the way you throw a grenade. this is how I know: I'm a marine.
and I am a physics student and and IT professional and that fact does not rule this one out of reality. There are ways to validate any "original" source. If the guy has the original, or a high enough resolution/framrate copy he can prove conclusively whether it has been tampered with which would be in his best interest considered the press and attention this one has garnered. All I can hope regardless of reality is that the system takes this seriously and it is looked into professionally.

You can play it frame by frame and find the splice frame.

th way you throw a grenade is not the same as a ball ar an abnormal object such as a puppy. I'm telling you it looks like he is throwing a grenade just by his body motions. trust me it doesn't take a physics professional to know how to throw a grenade.

I agree but looks can be deceiving, and it takes an understanding of optics, perspective and computer tech to make that analysis, I respect your experience, and agree that your opinion is worthy of respect in this case but by itself insufficient to conclude to a high standard of proof that this is nothing more then a spliced in puppy frame.

sweet jesus what dribble is this? Do some research if you want to try to disbelieve this is a real video the guy was booted out of the Marins for this, its not a photo shop! Marine mistreats puppy?
March 4: NBC's Patty Culhane reports on an Internet video clip that appears to show a U.S. Marine in Iraq throwing a live puppy off a cliff. Warning: This video contains content of a graphic nature.

HONOLULU - The Marine Corps said Wednesday it was expelling one Marine and disciplining another for their roles in a video showing a Marine throwing a puppy off a cliff while on patrol in Iraq.

The 17-second video posted on YouTube drew sharp condemnation from animal rights groups when it came to light in March.

The clip shows two Marines joking before one hurls the puppy into a rocky gully. A yelping sound is heard as it flips through the air.

Lance Cpl. David Motari, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment at Kaneohe Bay, is "being processed for separation" from the Marine Corps, the Marine Corps said in a news release. He also received unspecified "non-judicial punishment."

The Marine Corps didn't say what role Motari played in the clip.

The video was viewed tens of thousands of times before YouTube took it down because of a violation of the site's terms of use.

I am curious if the Marine would have the facilities at his location to splice the puppy into the film.

I am not convinced that it is photoshopped.

From Mike Mount
CNN Pentagon Producer

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A U.S. Marine videotaped throwing a puppy over a cliff while on patrol in Iraq has been kicked out of the Corps, and a second Marine involved has been disciplined, according to a statement released by the Marines.

YouTube.com removed the video for violating the Web site's terms of use.

Lance Cpl. David Motari, based in Hawaii with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, is being "processed for separation" and received non-judicial punishment, officials said in the statement Wednesday night. The Marine Corps would not specify what that punishment was because of privacy regulations.

The statement said Motari received the punishment for his role in the "episode which generated international attention."

thanks for being oe of the few people with brains in this issue. you are right. it does take an understanding of optics. I knew it was a fluke. its plain as day that the puppy was spliced in the frames containing a grenade.

I couldn't find it on Youtube. But..I found other disturbing videos. It saddens me. In one video I saw them throw grenades at sheep and another showed them laughing when a dog blew up.

seriously? the internet doesn't have email? the marines don't have computers? there's no form of electronic data comunication in the field? I'm a computer marine okay. I ensure the computer communication in the field of battle. let me ensure you that the marines have the capability of photoshoping movies made on patrol. furthermore, who said he was the one to do the photoshopping? someone downloads the video and enhances it to their anti military liking.
