I think its alright as long as your eating your kill. Any kind of hunting for sport is just f*cked up.

And really...I think your a chump if you have to use dogs and a high powered gun with a scope. If your gonna do it...do it with a bow and arrow. That takes much more skill and patience.

Thank you Mr. Nugent...*l*

They sh0ould visit a slaughter house..Not very pretty and a lot crueler that hunting..

That's the truth. A deer is out in the woods free & probably happy right up to the last minutes of it's life. I see nothing wrong with hunting if you eat what you kill. I hate seeing cattle or pigs crammed in a truck going down the highway in winter with passing vehicles slinging filthy slush on them.
If people would just google it, they would see the need to thin the heard. Check out the auto incidents between car and deer. We have imposed on to much of their territory and it affects us all. The dont have the range they use to, the food supply can not sustain them. I just find it ironic people call it cruel, yet they ate a big juicy turkey for thanksgiving. Take a look at that revenue it creates. The "Majority" of hunters take the laws pertaining to it very seriously and take great care of the land(and nature)they use.

I read a book in my early teens about hunting called "Hunting for the Pot and Fishing for the Pan". I still remember lessons taught in that book. Namely that you should never ever kill an animal unless you plan to eat it at some point. A very good lesson for any youth learning to hunt/fish.

I believe many states require minors to pass a gun safety course before they can get a hunting license of any sort..

I know Pennsylvania does that. My dad made me, my brother and my sister take the hunter's safety course. It's a great idea.

I don't hunt. I wouldn't have the patience for it, nor would I be willing to get up early and stand in the cold all day. And my aim isn't so great :-/

That being said, I see nothing wrong with responsible hunting. Indeed, it's necessary. Whitetail deer, for example, would be grossly overpopulated without hunting, which would lead to starvation and general ill health as their resources are depleted. Now, poaching is wrong. Hunting endangered species is wrong. Hunting excessively or just to kill is wrong (such as happened to passenger pigeons and thylacines). Hunting for food is fine. hunting for sport even is fine - if all you want is a trophy, so be it. If you leave meat behind something -will- eat it, whether it's vultures, coyotes...feral dogs and cats, even.

I used to hunt, but about 20 years ago, I got tired of sitting on a stand freezing to death, with nothing to show for it. I never saw anything I could shoot at. There was always plenty of meat from my grandparents, so I didn't need to. Sure wish I had some now though.

Got two doe quarters...some dove and some feral hams...My brother-in-law loves hunting and cooking. I enjoy fighting and cooking. We have a blast together and we teach other cooking tips. I really dig that he brings me game meat.....tastes soooo good over mesquite smoke....

Don't hurt that he is a registered gun dealer with a liscence for the production, procurement and sales of silencers....

Wish I had a liscence for my silencers!

Dang...drifted off topic...not hard to do when you are sipping brandy and cleaning a 9 mil. Sterling Parabellum....Isreali army issue...1987...it is a sweet "spray and pray" rig...45 round side mounted bannana clip. It is mounted on a side sling. Fits perfectly beneath a jacket. The thing is...I don't even keep my guns at my house....I use sword/maces or rat shot for home defence.

I am okay with hunting for food. I raise rabbits and butcher them myself for food. Friends share venison when they go deer hunting. I am absolutely against trophy hunting and feel that anything you kill, you eat. No waste. I live in New Hampshire and this is a rural area. I would much rather eat wild animal that is free of hormones and chemical injections.

People need to realize that when they go grocery shopping those animals didnt just suddenly appear all shiny and pre-packaged. They were butchered.

If you're hunting for food, I have no problem with it.

thats the way i see it i always eat wat i kill

Excellent philosophy my man...

I personally don't dig hunting but, I LOVE getting feral meats to cook...I get them frequently. When you have mesquite and shotgun cooked quail...you will understand.

Eating wild game is a hell of a lot healthier anyway. Its leaner meat and there is no hormone additives in it. Wild animals can have parasites potentially but thats about the extent of it. God only knows what kind of hormones are being pumped into commercial stockyard animals.

I used to hunt when I was young, dad taught me.. He didn't work in the winter(roofer) and so we ate what he brought home and it was good. Lots of hunters in the family, all have taken the gun safety class and all eat what they take...

I myself am a hunter. And i just came across someone who doesnt like it. We all are entitled to our own opinion. I just want to no wat side of the fence your on, and why you feel that way.
I think Hunting is fine. For some Families its aa way that they bond. For some comunities, its a way of life.
I have a fear of guns. I just signed up for gun classes so i can learn the proper way to handle a gun. I also want to get over my fear. Most of the time, the more you now, the less fear you have
