Yes, I understand that not everyone is a Christian, and that's fine. By the same token, there are plenty of people who ARE Christian that don't like it. I don't necessarily think that a person's religion really should have much to do with enjoying any particular type of music, though, really. I mean, people can listen to the same songs over and over and over again all year long and never bat an eye, but they can't handle holiday songs for even the short time they're played. I guess I just don't get it.

C'est la vie.

Really? Have we debated before or discussed a topic? I lose track of names on here? It would not surprise me though.

Fair enough. I simply dislike most Christmas music because it sucks and I have discerning taste. If you require another explanation. Most of it is very poorly adapted, recorded and is mass produced and marketed for the general public to purchase at large.

I am also NOT a Christian but that has very little to do with it in fact. Religiosity is neither here nor there when listening to crap.

I would dislike it for the same reasons (except for the notable exceptions that I already mentioned).

I dont remember your nick. Sorry? Its no big deal. If people just argue, that will turn me right off them and I wont respond.

Debate has formal parameters.

Okay, 'nother topic time....not everybody will necessarily care, but what else is new?

I'm curious to know why there are so many people that dislike Christmas music. There's such a variety of it to choose from, I don't really understand how people can hate it so much.

It makes me sad, really.

Okay, topic over.

Well of course not all of us are Christians. Its important to keep that in mind. Or am I getting too controversial for this thread? laugh

I like "Jingle Bell Rock" okay and some of the older renditions of the classics by Sinatra.

Also "A Peanuts Christmas" is STILL my all time favorite. Vince Guaraldi if you are not familiar with it. He did all of that Jazz for the Peanuts Gang TV show.

I'm not Christian and I like Christmas music .

Oh okay, sorry i think I was responding to something else then.

Yeah it really good if you like Christmas music. You should probably enjoy Jazz though. I would say thats the only pre-requisite.

I can enjoy practically anything, as long as there's actual talent involved.

i LOVE christmas music.

my only issue is that the radio stations start plaing them WAY too early (sometimes november) and by the time christmas actually rolls around, i'm sick of them.

But see, that's the point I'm trying to make. Somebody can listen to a song on the radio all year long and not think twice....but it doesn't work that way for holiday tunes. What's exactly the diff?

Here's another little aside....

There are folks who enjoy Christmas tunes so much, they have no problem pulling them out and listening to them for a while during the middle of July. People look at them as though they're nuts, because they're playing Christmas tunes in the middle of summer. yet, when they're played during the time of year that they're allegedly SUPPOSED to be played, people aren't satisfied either. You can't win.

I dont listen to FM cause its so repetitive. I hate hearing a good song so much that I hate it

since I dont listen to the radio I dont get inundated with Christmas music so I enjoy it when I hear it

oh i'd get sick of anything that i heard a few times a day, every single day, for any extended period of time - not just christmas music.

Sure, but it's amazing how many people LIVE for hearing their favorite song every twenty minutes!
