All things come to he who waits.

Don't rush, be patient.

I don't think it's such a bad sentiment. Good things DO come to those who wait....however, there is nothing in the playbook that says you can't have bonuses along the way.

Yea go for the gusto I say you can wait all your life for something and it might never come your way. Go out and find it, grab it, hold it, cherish it, enjoy it. Waiting SUX

I don't think that means to be passive, though.

Used, but probably not originated by Violet Fane (1843-1905) in her poem Tout vient ß qui sait attendre.

'Ah, all things come to those who wait,'
(I say these words to make me glad),
But something answers soft and sad,
'They come, but often come too late.'

Absolutely. Likewise to "It'll come to you when you stop looking for it." No it won't....

I wait and I wait and I wait....and all I get is a toilet bowl full of poop. Am I doing it right?

Ive always been the type to take the bull by the horns and go after what I want for better or for worse. That approach has also landed me in some BIG trouble but I dont regret it.

Yes, absolutely...

..but then again, there's also the statement "have faith"..

It's finding a balance of the two that makes it difficult to determine how long is too long to wait.

Honestly? If I had kept waiting for love to find me, I would have lost out on my honey.

I was tired of waiting for him to notice me as more than a friend.

So I spoke up.

And now I am the happiest woman on the face of the planet!

There's a difference between sitting around and waiting for something to happen without being proactive and doing all you can and then patiently waiting for the fruits of your labor to come in.

Think farming. Lots of hard work. Lots of patience.
