Topic: Would you go to a Gay Wedding?

Don't assume that those of us would go are saying so just because others are saying the same thing. Some of us do think for ourselves. Some of us do have gay friends that we'd happily go see get married.

Don't assume that I don't have gay and/or lesbian friends. But if they did make the marriages legal here, I would not go. Personal preference, nor prejudice.

I didn't say you didn't have gay friends. I said some of us have gay friends we'd happily go see get married. There's a difference.

WHAT-EVER.... some people simply love to argue... which is a total turn-off.

I'm out of here... argue away...

Wow. I was just pointing out that I was not assuming anything about you, as I don't know you or your friends. And, I was replying to what you had said in an earlier post about people saying they would go to a gay wedding because they were following others, which is not always true either.

My best friend is gay and in a committed relationship...
several other friends are gay...
some men in my life I wish were gay (so they'd leave me the hell alone)..
I've gone to the PRIDE parades in support
I'm a strong supporter of gay rights period
I spend a lot of time at my friend's home
I actually spend so much time with him that he calls himself my fake husband
I watch LOGO and I love the movies & tv shows on that network
I have all seasons of The L Word on DVD..and I watch them often (my friend finds it amusing that I watch a lesbian based show since as he says.. I'm the straightest woman he's ever met)
I'd go ALMOST anywhere my friend invites me to

but I've never had the interest in attending a wedding period... gay OR hetero

so I guess my answer technically would be no.

Ok, well I might reconsider if the free food was actually GOOD...lol.

That's a general rule that should apply to any and every function. drinker

The last weddings I went to YEARS ago had food that sucked... AND there was no wine or champagne to wash out the taste of said sucky food...lol

If my half brother, who is gay, decided he wanted to get married, and he invited me to go, I absolutely would.

He's my brother. Regardless of whether I agree with it or not.

Oh, and I'm not saying anything one way or the other about whether I do or don't agree with it. Mainly because I simply don't care.

In about 2 years of being here, I have rarely said anything along those "religious" lines... one reason I don't is because I believe strongly it is not something that should be argued about.

Thank you for the compliment. I appreciate the pic you posted because it represents a hard-core sector of our society. While the person holding the hate signs is attempting to do some form of "good" they actually cross over some ethical line to the detriment of all, including those of us with faith.

Thanks for posting that... that is a very powerful picture, and I am saving it on my computer.

Makes me wonder whether people should forego the food and just have the bar.....

then I remember that youtube exists and everyone's drunk uncle from some wedding party has been posted up with 100,000 views. drinker drinker drinker

It seems at nearly every wedding ever held in the history of humankind, regardless of sexual designation, someone always drinks too much and falls down or makes an ass of him or herself. Its traditional.
