I find more edgy guys that are younger as well. As people age they get fearful, become conformists, walk the line, don't want to make a stir etc.

Younger are still willing to take risks .. heck children are the best risk takers around. You don't see adults jump as much as kids .. or have fun in the rain .. yada yada.

But it's that open, carefree, fun spirit that's so attractive. Guess it's why I date younger cuz they tend to be less rigid and sometimes.

But edgy is also cutting-edge edgy .. it's trying new things even though they may be scary or seem they won't work. Risky stuff and all .. sounds like you enjoy that in your work eh?

For me personally...more "edgy" is happening later...when I have the opportunity to put down the OBLIGATIONS of my younger years. Not sure if that applies to anyone else's situation, but it's a heck of a lot of fun for me

I like freedom, and I enjoy pushing beyond the expected. I conform fairly well, when it suits, but keep the rascal close to unleashing at all times.

I dont think there is a time-out for being edgy,sure things can hamper that behavior and put it on hold.But its nothing you can remove or stop..its always there just waiting for a situation or time

I remember my work telling me that I lived on the edge and altho that was my perogative, they'd decided not to live there with me

do you think that part of that might be because the older guys are (sometimes) wise enough to recognize which battles to choose? that they realize it might be futile to wage a war over every issue with which they disagree?

I don't know if it's battles I'm thinking of altho I do think we learn to choose them. I certainly have learned that with 5 kids. Bet you have with your children too.

But an edgy person doesn't let life beat them down to where they conform for the sake of the group mentality perse.

If getting older depicts letting go of our passions then I'm willing to stay young forevaaaaaah.

I'm thinking more of the carefree side of life I guess. The opportunities that we start letting go of because we don't live that risk out ..

I think the idea has digressed here though. What prompted the thread is the idea of non-conformist.

Not so much determined to go against the flow, but just finds themselves not going along with the crowd in their thinking. Certainly not a stubborness or dogmatism, but more creative thinking.
