This is where the irony steps in. According to the definition most people have about edgy, it's someone who: Takes risks regardless of the repercussions. Seems really selfish to me. And stupid. If you will do something be hang the repercussions that person doesn't make decisions he just reacts. Takes a stand for what they believe in and doesn't back down. Sorry I have know some really moral committed people but there is always room for error of understanding the issue and occassionaly that requires backing down, saying you are sorry, and sometimes changeing course because you change your mind if you actually have one. Takes no sh!t from any man, woman, child, or small mammal. While I don't take a lot of stuff off adults there are instances when even they get a pass for being human. Anyone that can't grasp that a child or and animal can't be held responsible is sorry in deed. Doesn't follow the mainstream. At least sometimes it would seem reasonable. Anyone who is so egotistical to think they have to reinvent every single thing is not fun. Is not spineless. A spine is a flexible thing for a reason. Someone who is so rigid that they constantly have to buck the system doesn't really have a true spine. Is not a conformist. Well I don't have any heartburn with some one not being a comformist if they are willing to take the dings that come from trying to force an irregular personality into a fairly standard social order without whineing or being ugly to those who choose to. People are not necessarily wrong because they follow what works for most. Strangely enough, all these qualities describe me to a T, yet I've never been called "edgy. I wouldn't call that edgy either. I've only been called an @sshole. Only you know if that really applies. Name callers have a right to and opinion but you also have the right to refuse it as invalid. Edgy to me is a person who is someone who pushes boundries and doesn't get real worked out by being close to boundries. They are not really too caught up in fitting in and makes choices that are more personal than dangerous but not necessarily always safe. I like that definition. Sounds very much like the qualities of a Dominant. |
