Snopes Wikipedia are the worst places to find information. Just go look at the first page on Snopes.com....It even says "Rumor Has It" Wikipedia, ANYONE can get in there and edit the information without census, so you never know if what you see is the truth on that site. If I wanted to, I could find an article about....How to make a dress and put some totally bogus patterns up there... |

But..with Snopes it does show the rumor at the top and tells what is true underneath the rumor. |

If you follow the link, it backs up the rumor with links the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's consumer report. Snopes usually backs up what it writes. It says rumor has it on its front page because it's a site for substantiating or debunking internet rumors. |

But..with Snopes it does show the rumor at the top and tells what is true underneath the rumor. It does usually show the true origins of the story, but most of the time the stories are so out of proportion it's not even funny. Most urban legends like that one above are based on some fact, but have been so stretched it is hardly anything like the fact. |

Really, I've always heard that Snopes and FactFinder were the best places to find unbiased facts. Snopes is normally cited as being the BEST place to find out the facts behind hoaxes and such. As far as Wikipedia goes, I totally agree. I've found highly questionable info there before. |

Maybe more people need to just have Halloween Parties for the local kids and keep people in and do fun things. BUY the candy and/or make treats for them.
