I was raised on a crop farm, but we had a few animals here and there, and I named a cow once we had from a calf.... I never named them again.... My daughter was watching Animal Planet one night and I went downstairs to make popcorn and I came back up to a horrified face. She said "Mommy what is that lion doing to that deer?" I had to explain the circle of life to her, in the most innocent way I could think for for a 5 year old. I could tell when I was finished she didn't quite get it, so I said "you know like when we go to the farm baby, we see the cows, those are hamburgers" She won't eat a hamburger to this day... Sounds like my cousin when my aunt told him that milk was " cow juice ". |
