"Tell me what keeps her by his side
When she's treated just like dirt The fear of the dark unknown Appears to be much worse than the hurt So she stays up nights and dreams Of a knight in shining armour Who will rescue her one day While time keeps going against her " -Sammy Hagar |

sometimes it's because of the kids or finances. It could also be because the woman has been manipulated into thinking no one else will love her.

Because they don't GET that they deserve better ...
...way too much 'not good enough' floating around in the minds of people ... |
|
|
|
Because women sometimes in the mist of loving, and wanting to be loved can not see that love as being as bad as it really is.

Well, in my situation, I was in an abusive marriage for 6 years, the reason I stayed was cuz he threatened my family and friends if I ever left him!! I finally could though, because he found himself in the hospital, so my mother and I packed my stuff up, and left!! I filed for divorce the next day! I am so glad it's over now!

Low self esteem and a degraded sense of self-worth... either that or the dude is a wildcat in bed.

sometimes it's because of the kids or finances. It could also be because the woman has been manipulated into thinking no one else will love her. And, because they have been beat down, stripped of their self esteem, told that they are worthless, etc., for so long that they just don't have the strength to try to leave. Many have no place to go, no family, etc. Also, many times they have been threatened with being killed if they do leave, or that he will kill their kids --- look at the news, how many times have women and/or their kids been killed by an abusing partner. It is real. Sorry, guess this hit a nerve. |

So many different circumstances, so many different reasons. It's impossible to generalize about this.

As a girl who used to love that sort of fella i can say its the thrill of a challenge... most nice guys are too easy and lack excitement at an age and maturity level where the girl is just trying to find the excitement in life
