They arent taking away your right not to get pregnant. They are just exercising their right to conduct their business as they see fit.

If you were a vegetarian and had a restaurant that didnt serve meat, would that somehow infringe on my right to eat it?

They are however taking away my right to have reduced periods, cramps, backaches, and all the other fun stuff that come with periods. Many many many women take birthcontrol to control their periods. It has nothing to do with not wanting to get pregnant or not.

Not to mention monthly hemorrhaging that can lead to a dangerous amount of blood loss, debilitating pain that can incapacitate you...

I don't care what religion you are... Your DOCTOR and NOT the Pharmacists should decide what's better for your health. IMHO the pharamacist has no right to tell me I have to suffer thru anything because it goes against their religious beliefs.

I don't think they are taking away anything by choosing not to sell something that is against their religion. I don't particularly agree with em, but I support their right not to support something that is anathematical to their religion

You cant die from someone refusing to sell you condoms or the morning after pill either. They are a pharmacy not an emergency room.

I dont know many pharmacies that preform tubal litigation.

Are you guys advocating violating their religious and persoanl rights to keep you from having to walk across the street to a different pharmacy.

I love how we are real quick to jump up and defend our own rights and think nothing of violating someone elses in doing so.

Its just like freedom of speech. Nazi groups have freedom of speech to spew their racist crap. They dont have the freedom to do it in front of a synagogue. Your personal rights stop, the second they step on someone elses personal right.

Then maybe they should sell it to people in their congregation? When it comes to people's health, and you are a pharmacy open to the general public, you should be checking your religious beliefs at the door. What next?? The doctor won't give you a hysterectomy when you need it because it prevents pregnancies? I mean where does it stop?

Okay, so how do you feel about Muslim store clerks who believe pork is unclean that have to handle it in the course of their employment?

Do you think they should be allowed to refuse to perform that portion of the job?

Just asking

Yes, you can die. You can contract an STD like AIDS that will kill out if you don't use condoms.

How are they telling you you have to suffer through anything? If you ar suffering through anything because they refuse to sell you birth control all that means is you are suffering because you are either to stupid or to lazy to go to a different pharmacy.

No, you died from having unprotected sex, not from them not selling you a condom. If they sold condoms and they just happened to be out that day and you had sex anyway and caught an STD would that be there fault as well?

You can die from hemorrhaging if you don't have HBC.

I don't really have a problem with them because I read an article that said there are two other pharmacies in town that offer these things. The problem arises when there are no other nearby pharmacies or all the pharmacies have the same policy.

I'm getting at "where does it end" As long as these items are available to people then OK. I don't want to take away their beliefs either. And I'm not saying mine is more important than theirs. I'm saying as a matter of health, some items should not be denied access.

I am in no way taking blame or responsibility from the individuals to protect themselves. I'm just saying they shouldn't be denied tools to do so.

There are mail order pharmacies. Besides, its just like any other town, if you dont like the services you can get there you are always free to move.

If none of the other pharmacies in town sold Birth control, im sure some enterprising business person woudl step in real quick if their was a market for it there.

Maybe they shouldn't be in that line of business?? If he's the owner maybe he should cater to Muslims that won't be buying pork anyway. There's nothing wrong with having a religious based store. Whether or not a Muslim sells pork in his market has no bearing on my personal health.

In all honesty they have every right to do as they choose either sell certain items or not to. Just as anyone else has the right to go to another place in order to get what they need.

But just because they do not fill Birth Control prescriptions there will always be someone else that will. Most likely there must be a lot of others in the area that feel the same way about Birth Control in order for them to make that stand.

Myself it would be one place that I would not give my business too if it was and issue for me.

stevex86 your right people have the right to make choices weather its politics, religious or other

but not transfering a prescription is wrong, now there infringing on my rights

i have a medical condition call polycystic overies, (probally mispelled) but basically i dont ovulate on a regular cycle birth control pills help. i get lots of fun side effects from this but its a tmi......

my point is if its not stated on the store front and they keep my perscription then i have to go and get another and try and find someplace else to go. if i know i wouldnt go there.

I just don't think pharmacists should be given the right to not give someone a prescribed medicine. What if some heart medicine has a side effect of lowering your chances to get pregnant?? Are they going to quit selling that too?? I'm not saying people don't have the right to have religious stores. And people shouldn't be forced to sell things that go against their religions. So instead of running a pharamcy, maybe another line of business would have been more appropriate. I just don't see why they are given the right to impact my personal health.
