Honestly, I think it's simply up to the two people involved, nothing to do with age.

As long as BOTH people realize it's nothing more-- then I don't see a problem.

What goes on between 2 consenting adults should stay between them. However, if their having benefits regularly, I think it's more than just a friendship.

Many different degrees of "friendship".
What happens behind closed doors is nobody else's business.
At this age, there are so many other things that come to bear, on marrying again.
Property, pensions, family, heck even the govt. proves that. A lady who remarries before 60. loses her ability to draw on her frst husbands S.S.; what if this marriage doesn't work out.
She has lost a lot financial security, for later years.

From what I'm reading I for one think lovers is different. And I think it is hard to just keep it FWB give me love making not just sex. Emotions get in the way. And if I don't have that zing I don't want to have sex. Touchy subject here for me right now lol

I'm with you. Love making has that zing that plain old sex doesn't have. I certainly don't want to live with anyone or make any legal arrangements, but a companion with intimacy would be very nice. That's different to me that just FWB.

I think generally folks who are single over 50 understand the realities of life and dating. And maybe the ideal relationship does not exist, but we still need the companionship and intimacy so arrangements are made between consenting adults.

Probably in a lot of cases there is more there than just friendship, but to keep things simple we just call it FWB.

Personally I think whatever two people come to agree on and if it works then have fun and enjoy each other's company. Life is too short try to make everything perfect.

FWB- depends on the friend & his attitude about it. a good place to hunt for one is the fish & game dept. at Walmart. maybe it's the time of year.

I am surprised by the results of this poll. I would of thought the guys would of said YES and the women NO. But, it appears most folks of either sex think that this is a workable situation.

It is hard for me to believe what I just read...The majority of the answers forgot about God ,and morals and used age as a good reason.What have we all become when we do not respect ourselves for convenience or sex or monetary reasons as Sage suggests...What ever happened to the definition of whore whether it be male or female..or is that just acceptable because it is convenient to forget about God..At our age we should be believing in Him more and more not less...
Benefits are for doing something right not wrong..(other than wall street) A committed relationship is the best sexual stimulant we could ever hope for and great sex is the reward. .Good benefits get better with security and love and peace of mind knowing that at our age we should be with the one we will be with till we pass and believing in that.
In closing I will anger some but what I will say is the truth with no excuses needed.If you want too be a whore(male or female ) do so ,but recognize it for what it is...do not make excuses ..and then color it pretty by calling it friends with benefits.
