The issue of U.S. boarder security and control?

Illegal aliens did not stop breaking in to our country because the banks needed a bail out.

Illegal Aliens must be deported. If you want to live here you need to get in line with everyone else.

What say you?

I agree completely!!!One killed my little brother 2 years ago. Drinking and driving. They're gonna deport him after he does his time. I hope by then we'll have snipers and electrified fences to keep him and them out.

Funny you mention that. I just read a story stating that there has been a decline of illegal aliens coming to the U.S.. Seems the cost of living has gotten so high here that it doesn't pay to cross the borders.

There has been an 11% decline in illegal immigration since August. There aren't enough jobs so they went home.

Our bad economy has trickled down to other countries so they are finding out that there are no jobs at home either. So I guess that it's due to the cost of living and our increased unemployment that's the highest it's been in 7 years.

Well, if these bail outs tank our economy there will be a lot of people begging for those bus driver jobs. Hell, they can make it part of the New, New Deal.

("Help feed your American Family deport an Illegal alien today!!!")

That would be a great slogan.

We can drives’em or we could shoot’em out of cannons.

I hear the guns on our old battle ships could fire shells, that weighed as much as a Volkswagen bug , up to 25 miles.

Now if 20 illegal’s can sneak over the boarder in a Volkswagen bug, then we most certainly can fire 20 of them out of a deck gun at one time.

We just re-commission some old battleships and put all the illegal’s on them. Float down the coast of California and start firing them into Mexico city.

I know not all illegal’s are from Mexico …right.

Well, they can find their way home from where they land ….I am sure. .

I am not saying that I don't agree with you all but my dad was here illegally from Spain and my mother was also here illegally from Australia...my dad is now a citizen with a PHD in gen med and my mother has been a teacher for 20 plus years. I know that this is a rare thing when it comes to people here illegally but I just thought I would say something bout the other side. Have a good day.

It is an issue regardless of whether border patrol is doing a good job or not. And I believe that there are extenuating circumstances with some illegal immigrants such as I've read a few posts ago.

However, I read (far be it for me to remember where) that while everyone is *****ing about our money being spent wildly over in Iraq, the cost of housing, feeding and taking care of the illegal immigrants is much more astounding.

Can someone shed some light on this?

undocumented workers are the backbone of the American economy..they sustain construction, hotel/restaurant and most important of all agriculture...I doubt many "Americans" would be willing to bust their butts working over 12 hours a day, stooped under a hot sun picking produce, for less than minimum wage..but hey, thats why and how you get your cheap produce and your 99 cent hamburgers.

I really wish once and for all the "illegal" immigrant issued was resolved either by opening your borders or holding accountable the companies that hire non-documented workers in the first place...wonder how happy youll be then when you end up paying 12 dollars a pound for potatos...

ok...but what about things like this that i come across:
(i'm just trying to make sense of the positive vs. negative)

"Although the United States’ welfare rolls are already swollen, every year we import more people who wind up on public assistance: immigrants. Many immigrants are poor; indeed, that is why they come here. The immigrants we admit are much poorer than the native population and are increasing the size of our impoverished population. As a result, the share of immigrant households below the poverty line (18 percent) is much higher than the share of native households that are poor (11 percent)—nearly twice as high. And immigrant households are more likely to participate in practically every one of the major means-tested programs. Immigrant use of welfare programs (21 percent) is 43 percent higher than non-immigrants’ use (15 percent).1

Each year, state governments spend an estimated $11 billion to $22 billion to provide welfare to immigrants.2
Why Are Immigrants On Welfare?

Some people mistakenly think that immigrants are not eligible for welfare. Several years ago, Congress did attempt to render immigrants ineligible for most forms of welfare. However, subsequent backpedaling by Congress and the executive branch has undone most of those reforms. Furthermore, many immigrant families get welfare through the eligibility of their U.S. citizen children. (It is also important to realize that even when immigrants are ineligible for federal welfare programs, the burden of their support is simply shifted over to the state and local welfare agencies.)

Refugees, asylees, and all amnestied illegal aliens are exempt from the public charge requirement.3 Congress has decided that the American people will serve as the sponsors for these immigrants and pick up the tab for their support."

they aren't the backbone, but the excuse for free lunches and free rides and the easy life of entitlements in the minds of the youth of America.

Illegals are taking jobs from Americans but Americans want the white collar cubicle, for the most part.

Well, somebody has to do the blue collar things or they go offshore.

You get what you got wqith that.

Meanwhile, illegals filling the jobs in construction is wrong, but practical in an exploding housing market.

Their help was appreciated. But they must leave now. We got this.

Actually, we have little to do now.

Mostly because America was so busy applauding the fast easy buck that the bubble imploded on them.

Whiners, all.

Days are coming when people will actually have to work for a living and be productive.

Novel thought, huh?

Socialism only means that it will take ten people to change a lightbulb, since socialism redistributes the unfair advantage of those that work too hard and get a little ahead of the others.

How utterly stupid.

NO wonder our friends to the north have advanced to such heights of dizzying proportions.

Let me see if I got this straight, OK?

Canada has 33 million people, right?

California has over 50 million, right? Many of them are illegal aliens, right?

But California is the 7th largest economy in the world.

And Canada? well.............

let's just say Canada has evolved beyond making economic sense of the free market. laugh

Take the lumber industry away, which is filling Canada's coffers with revenues from exports to the US, and what is left?

Actually making unemployed citizens do the labor work instead of illegal immigrants would rise the food price however the economy would grow and it would economically stabilize itself.Just an example in my state of Florida last year spent over 7 billion dollars on illegal immigrants.

I do think there are some honest immagrants who really want to be here legally but really don't know how to get to that point. My dad sponsers lots of people and helps them to come to our country legally. If there were more Americans here that felt that way instead of being so angry...we may not have so many issues regarding people here illegally. I really don't like to stir up controversy but I do like to have the other half of this debate exposed. I am a first generation American and I am proud of my parents and who they have become. I also agree that people should not "sneak" across the border to test the streets of gold theory either. Just some of my crazy crazy thoughts.
