My parents are 70 and living in their own home. My step-grandma is in her mid 80's and lives alone. |

 Alone isn't so bad...married 10yrs...alone is good most of the time 
I agree I like my space also but when I'm in my 70's (no offense to 70 year old) I would like to have someone to come home to who knows what the future holds, question, why focusing on when you're 70, why not now, today, tomorrow, next week? why rely on another person to provide you w/happiness? if you are not happy/content with yourself now/then how can someone else be?  <~~~~ heading to the naughty corner

Would you rather be married and be miserable? What if you were married to the wrong person? I think I would rather be alone and be happy all by myself. I think being alone isn't so bad, its actually kind of nice

I agree, I like my space! myspace sucks, and I can't imagine being there at 70 yrs old.
So my Dad moves into a retirement community/apartment complex, he was about 80 at the time. A yr later he has a "friend". Go Dad!!!!!! Can't imagine being utterly alone. Not married is fine. |

Is anybody out there afraid to live alone? I mean, if you think about, your 70 not married. and live alone. What kind of life could that be?  Thats probably gonna happen to me

i've never been alone...
i went from my parents home, to college with suitemates to living with my husband. i wonder what it is like sometimes, but i'm happy where i am. i used to get alone time but now that mom in law is living with us ... that went out the window.... |

Shshshs Being alone means you can do what you want to when you want to.
You can watch whatever you want to on tv. You can eat what you wish. You can stay up late if you like. You can go where you want to. You can walk through the house neked if you like. You never have to make sure it is okay with someone else on what you decide. You don't have to worry about someone else making plans for you that you don't want. Hummmmm so tell me what is so bad being alone. Ohhh and to answer that one I have a dog and the net so now what is the excuse lmao

Besides you are never alone, you have some good memories somewhere I am sure. I do. Plus my pet who loves me dearly.
