My 02 FORD Ranger gets 26 mpg with a 4.0 liter V6. Its decent on gas...4 wheel drive...can pull you camry on a trailer...dont have to rent a moving truck or have furniture delivered...and I havent had a single problem with it. When your camry can do that...give me a call. My 2007 Tundra gets 13/17, can tow 10000, haul 1500. I've got almost 30000 miles on it and has never had a problem. And the 2007 Tundra's had a driveshaft recall. Might wanna get that checked out. |

FORD- Found On Road Dead.

I drive a Toyota Tacoma, 4x4, TRD, black.
Great mileage and never had a mechanical problem. The amazing thing I found when I bought the truck was that it was MADE in CALIFORNIA and it had the Union Seal of Approval to buy. I was also looking at buying a Dodge Truck 4x4...the ones available here in Arizona are MADE in MEXICO? WTF? |

Lol...doubt that will be happening anytime soon. the truck has over 90,000 miles on it I havent any major problems. its been to though the traffic jams of newyork to the beaches of north carolina. I'm a Ford guy....and I dont even like the explores. They are a POS. Understandably so but you do know the ranger & the explorer are the same. |

It's not politics, it's called economic globalization. Instead of just a few countries having all the jobs and wealth, which is what the U.S. enjoyed for many years, the jobs and wealth are being spread out. That means eventually, we will all be on a level economic playing field, world-wide. The high-standard of living enjoyed here in the U.S. will one day soon be no better than it is anywhere else in the world. The downside? Things are going to get a lot worse. Once our economy bottoms out, it will remain at that much lower level. you've been reading the post-its out of washington again, havent yuo my friend? just kidding Seriously though, it has nothign whatsoever to do with economic globalalization. It is very simply put, greed. The high corporate bosses who make the decisions, do not lay off here int he states in order to transplant out of country workers intot he position in order to globalize the economy. They do it, because it is legal, and they can thus pay less than half the wages they would have to pay here in the united states. In other words they want to hire someone in say india (as an example, I dont know actual rates to qutoe them) for 2.00 american money an hour, than hire an american in the united states for 7.15 an hour (I think that is federal minimum wage now, isnt it?) |

Again, the only important thing about vehicle purchases is where the profit goes because that determines who gets the net gain and the money for advanced R&D. It's too late to salvage anything truly American made because there is nothing 100% American made anymore. The damage has been done and it is irreversable. Just don't complain about the loss of jobs, the eroding economy or less pay when you facilitated it. Don't expect the politicians to magically fix the mess you put yourself in either. Economic globalization is here to stay and no politician can change that. If you have a good job now, good luck keeping it! If you don't have a good job now, get used to it!

Shshshsh I'm happy with my P.T Cruiser But as far as the way the economy is we have not seen the worst of it yet. At least I don't think we have. I had a PT before my Impala... I miss it, but it was horrible on gas... like less than 20MPG.. the Impala gets about 25-27. Humm mine is good on gas around the 27MPG I drive 30 miles to work one way. I fill up once a week which is not bad considering what most have to do. |

Unfortunately I think everyone is correct when they say we have not seen the worst yet, pretty soon you will be rich or poor, there will be no more middle class!! Humm what a sad thought shshsh people will have to end up moving family members in with them in order to make it ohhhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooo just got my freedom from my kids shshsh hopefully it will not get that bad. Only time will tell. |

The middle-class has been getting shoved out for the past eight years, with that amount of time devoted to taking out a certain class of living...it will take more to undo the damage done, with that in mind and the collateral damage. Goodbye middle-class, it's basic economics really, don't fix what is already too far gone.

I'm glad I have my Toyota Camry, all it ever needs is gas Amen Brother Just bought myself a new Toyota and gett 38MPG! And the Japanese thank-you! I challenge you to visit their country. Comparing life in Japan to life in the U.S. is like comparing life in the U.S. to life in Mexico. You made it happen! So you can tell me..EVERYTHING you have purchased is made in USA? Doubt that... I have bought only American vehicles because I have always seen the bigger picture of economics. I can't dictate to others what they buy. If Americans choose to buy foreign cars destroying the American car industry, then I will get around on old American junkers. Other American goods are no longer available. You can't even buy a picture frame that's made in the U.S. That's all because of Americans making lots of money yet buying the cheapest available goods (i.e. Wall-Mart). That put all of America's manufacturing into countries like China. Now you can't buy anything made in America. All I'm pointing out here is how we got to where we are economically today. What you buy is your business. Just know that there are consequences to both you and your children. Consequences to me and my children??? Seriously!...Whatever man...The only consequence I WOULD have taken is buying a Ford, so I know I will be good .... Mazda's are crappy |

Seems to me that this thread has kinda gotten off topic. Looks to me that we are all comparing our personal vehicles as in to justify what we have spent our hard earned cash on.
The truth is...everyone has different tastes. You like what you like. Every vehicle has its purpose. As long as your happy with what you have, then thats all that matters. Some people are concerned about mpg. Some are concerned with the economic stance. My theory is this...you only live once. Do what the f*ck makes you happy and dont care about what others think. Just because you buy a certain brand doesnt make better than anyone else. Your one person. Unless you own a big company or a have a big influence over the masses, then what you buy, is not gonna make or break the economy. But thats just my two cents. Let the flaming begin. |
